Veritas Christian Study Abroad enhances traditional WorldStrides programs by adding comprehensive Christian support. You’ll study at a host university and participate in excursions with other WorldStrides students, while also connecting with a local church, participating in service opportunities, and working with a Christian mentor. Veritas aims to offer holistic development by emphasizing academics, spiritual health, and social well-being, empowering you to live as a global follower of Christ through learning, serving, and community.

You’ll work with local churches and long-standing ministry partners abroad–gaining meaningful perspective on cross-cultural ministry in action. Whether you’re serving behind the scenes or engaging directly with the community, you’ll be contributing to efforts that align with local needs and long-term goals.
Your Veritas mentor will help you get connected and guide your journey, but how much you serve is up to you. This is your opportunity to experience Christianity in a new cultural context and grow in your faith while studying abroad.
We aim to support the long-term goals of the local community, so we’re very intentional about partnering with organizations that are well-established in the area and have a deep understanding of the needs of the local community - whether it’s working directly with communities in need or supporting activities behind the scenes.

Explore Veritas Academics
All Veritas students will take an online Veritas-specific course in addition to full-time courses at their host university. Your Veritas course is taught by a Christian professor who understands the mission of Veritas Christian Study Abroad. Your Veritas course provides a space to process your experiences through research, reflection, and critical thinking as you experience the challenges and opportunities of living out your faith in a cross-cultural context. Your professor will encourage you spiritually and academically and help you gain a missional perspective through your studies.
This course will be transcribed by California Baptist University (CBU). At the end of the program, you’ll receive a transcript from both your host university and CBU. You can choose from the following options:
Comparative Religions (HUM 353)
- Semester programs: 3 credits
- Not available for summer
- This course is an introduction to the major religious traditions of the world—particularly Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—and indigenous, new, and secular religions. The historical development, key figures, as well as major doctrines and practices are explored.
Global Ministry Practicum (HUM 490)
- Semester programs: 3 credits
- Summer programs: 1 credit
- This course equips students to engage meaningfully in international ministry by combining academic reflection with real-world service in a cross-cultural context. Through cross-cultural engagement and guided mentorship, students gain hands-on experience living out their faith in a global context. Students will develop a deeper understanding of global Christian ministry, engage critically with cultural and religious differences, and assess the personal and spiritual impact of their time abroad.
