You’ll study at the International College of Liberal Arts (iCLA), where a flexible liberal arts curriculum is taught entirely in English and blends global perspectives with deep engagement in Japanese culture. With easy access to hiking trails, hot springs, and vibrant festivals, iCLA is an ideal home base for students eager to explore Japan’s natural beauty and cultural treasures on weekends.
Choose from courses in Global Business & Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Art, Japan Studies, and more – all taught in English, or enroll in Japanese language courses from beginner to advanced level.
Dive into for-credit workshops that explore traditional and creative disciplines, such as Japanese music (Koto), Fuji Culture, Judo, Karate, Painting, Acting, and Directing.
Join the iCLA Buddy Program, which pairs you with local students for cultural exchange, language support, and help navigating life in Japan.
Immerse yourself in a multicultural campus through social events, clubs, and iCLA’s unique iEXPerience program—a series of hands-on field trips from a tea ceremony at a 700-year-old Zen temple to Wadaiko jam sessions.

After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
