Explore the intersections of language, culture, and geopolitics in Meknes—a walkable, welcoming city known for its imperial architecture and vibrant medina. This immersive academic experience allows you to dive into Arabic studies and international relations through courses taught in English on topics like Middle Eastern politics, religious studies, gender studies, and more. If you're looking to begin or improve your Arabic skills, you'll have the option to enroll in two Arabic language courses and earn up to a year's worth of language credits.

Whether you need help navigating life abroad or just want local recommendations, we’re here to ensure your study abroad experience is safe, supported, and unforgettable.
We'll help you make the most of your time abroad with immersive excursions and interactive activities throughout your program. We'll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, university, and your new home – all included in your program. Highlights may include guided visits to Fes, Rabat, and Tangier, camel trekking in the Sahara, hikes in the Atlas Mountains, and cultural experiences like Moroccan cooking classes and visits to historic medinas.

If one semester isn't enough, this program is offered for a full academic year for an even more immersive experience.
Study + Community Engagement
Pair your studies with a community engagement opportunity to earn credit while making a meaningful impact in your host community abroad. Serve alongside a local organization and engage in reflective assignments that deepen your understanding of social issues and enhance your intercultural skills. Our local network in Morocco includes organizations that specialize in ESL, special, and childhood education, as well as healthcare, human rights, and community development.

WorldStrides Global Campus
The WorldStrides Global Campus in Meknes offers a culturally immersive experience, with opportunities to learn and gain skills both inside and beyond the classroom. You'll live and study in the modern district of Hamria with easy access to explore the mediaeval streets of the labyrinthine medina.
Learn in a unique and exciting atmosphere, sharing space with local NGOs working to promote human rights and economic and social development.
Learn from experienced professors in small class sizes, helping you make close connections with fellow students and your professors.
Engage in interactive classes taught in English in a variety of topics, such as Middle Eastern studies, political science, gender studies, religious studies, and international relations.
Enroll in optional Arabic language courses with levels ranging from beginner to advanced (you could earn up to one year’s worth of language credits)
Upon program completion, you’ll receive an official transcript from WorldStrides’ School of Record, the University of South Florida (USF), an accredited U.S. institution.

Excursions and Activities

You’ll have access to a detailed itinerary in the WorldStrides Connections app prior to your program.

Home Away from Home
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
