Program Details
Barcelona’s energy and cultural complexity make it an inspiring place to study business, liberal arts, and language. At Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), you’ll take Spanish language courses at your level and choose from a range of courses in area studies, international relations, economics, and business—available in English or Spanish. Courses are taught by university faculty and taken alongside both local and international students. You must have at least four semesters of university coursework completed (junior standing) to be eligible for this program.

We’ll help you make the most of your time abroad with immersive excursions and interactive activities throughout your program.
We’ll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, academic culture, and your new home – all included in your program. As you explore the city’s iconic neighborhoods and landmarks, your experience will blend academic challenge with cultural connection through cooking classes, language exchanges, city tours, and even a beach day in nearby Valencia.

If one semester isn't enough, this program is offered for a full academic year for an even more immersive experience.

Universidad Pompeu Fabra
Located in the heart of Barcelona just steps from Ciutadella Park and Barceloneta Beach, the Universidad Pompeu Fabra (UPF) offers an immersive urban campus experience. Recognized for its academic rigor and research excellence, UPF provides a wide array of English- and Spanish-taught courses designed for both international and local students. Most courses are held at the Ciutadella campus, with select business courses held nearby at the ESCI campus.

Housing
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
