The transcript from the PUCP will reflect credits for each course. The contact hours for each course will not be reflected on the transcript, but are listed below to assist with credit transfer. Please be in touch with your home university regarding credit transfer.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of your home institution. Our enrollment policy and possible visa implications require you to maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by your home institution, during your program.

Students on a Semester + Community Engagement program have the option to receive 1 additional credit from our School of Record, the University of South Florida (USF). Students will receive a letter grade and transcripts will be sent to their home university 2–3 months after the program ends.

Students with an Advanced Spanish language level are encouraged to choose courses taught in Spanish with locals from the Facultad de Estudios Generales (School/College of General Studies in Humanities.) For a list of the General Studies Study Plan, click here.

Students can also choose from a select list of courses taught in English with local students. This course list grows each semester, so check with your program manager for the most up to date list. Courses come from several different schools including Engineering, Business, Humanities, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, and more.

Students can also choose upper division courses from any of the Schools or Facultades, as long as they meet the pre-requisites. Additional courses with locals are available from the following departments:

The most confirmed list of classes for each semester is published approximately one month prior to the start date. Course availability and contact hours are subject to change.

All students participating in a community engagement program will be enrolled in our community-engaged learning course. This online course will provide you with a framework to reflect on your experience, learn about social issues affecting your host community, and demonstrate your professional and cultural competencies achieved during your time abroad.

Students taking courses in English will still need to have tested out of 2 semesters of college-level Spanish. While courses will be in English, students will speak in Spanish on a daily basis, living in a homestay/residencia and participating in on-campus events and sports.

Students taking courses taught in Spanish with locals must have completed or tested out of a minimum of five semesters (7-8 quarters) of college-level Spanish.
