Barcelona’s blend of bold architecture, creative spirit, and world-class museums makes it the ideal backdrop for a semester of artistic exploration. Study at Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, known as ELISAVA, at the Universitat de Vic, located just off Las Ramblas in the heart of the city. You'll take courses taught in English at this design-focused campus known for its innovative teaching and professional connections in the fields of graphic design, visual communication, and product design. Students choose between two tracks depending on their background in design:
Track A is designed for those new to the discipline and includes three required graphic design courses, plus a visual arts or Spanish language elective.
Track B is for students with prior design experience and offers flexible course combinations from the full design curriculum.

We’ll help you make the most of your time abroad with immersive excursions and interactive activities throughout your program. We’ll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, academic culture, and your new home – all included in your program. Your time in Barcelona will go beyond studio time—connect with local culture through cooking classes, city tours, intercambios, and a beach day in nearby Valencia for an immersive academic and artistic journey.

Elisava, Universitat de Vic
Elisava, the design school of Universitat de Vic, is located just off Las Ramblas in the creative heart of Barcelona. This small, design-focused campus is home to cutting-edge facilities and a student body united by a passion for visual communication and innovation. With a curriculum shaped by academic rigor and professional relevance, Elisava bridges foundational knowledge and advanced design practices. Whether you're experienced in design or just beginning, Elisava provides an immersive academic environment with creativity is at the core.
Choose from their beginner-friendly or advanced track tailored to your design experience and academic goals. Each track offers an optional Spanish language course to help you navigate daily life and engage with local culture.

Home Away from Home
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
