Understanding university accreditation

All of our international university partners are accredited, authorized, and recognized by respected educational bodies—whether that’s the country’s Ministry of Education or one of the six U.S. regional accrediting agencies. We strive to partner with institutions that meet high academic standards, so you can trust the courses you take abroad are backed by the same level of rigor and credibility as those at home.

Many of our host universities also hold prestigious business school accreditations from organizations like AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA—three of the most rigorous international bodies that assess institutional excellence in teaching, research, and business engagement. These recognitions signal that a university meets the highest standards in business education, giving you added confidence in your academic experience and career preparation.

Setting the academic standard

AACSB

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the oldest and most recognized global accreditor of business and accounting programs. AACSB accreditation reflects excellence in teaching, research, and continuous improvement at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.

EQUIS

The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accredits institutions that demonstrate strong international focus, academic excellence, and global engagement in business education. EQUIS emphasizes internationalization and cross-border collaboration.

AMBA

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) accredits top-tier postgraduate business programs worldwide, including MBAs and DBAs. Its rigorous standards ensure programs deliver outstanding teaching, curriculum quality, and faculty interaction.

ABET

The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is a globally recognized accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. ABET accreditation ensures that programs meet the quality standards that prepare graduates to enter critical STEM fields and lead innovation across industries.

WA

The Washington Accord (WA) is an international agreement that recognizes the academic equivalency of accredited engineering programs across member countries. Founded in 1989, the Accord ensures that graduates of approved programs—such as those accredited by ABET—are recognized as meeting academic standards for engineering practice. Not all disciplines may qualify under this mutual recognition.

Institutional accreditation

The table below showcases accreditation by AACSB, EQUIS, ABET, and WA at the undergraduate level only. All of our host institutions hold accreditation by their respective ministry of education or a regional accreditation agency. In the event that a host institution's accreditation status does not meet our standards, we'll work through our school of record to issue the transcript to aid in credit transfer.
