Day 4 : Reykjavik - Hvolsvollur
Travel to Hvolsvollur

We continue on our journey from Reykjavik to Hvolsvollur.

Thingvellir National Park

Visit Thingvellir National Park, the most significant historical site in Iceland since the Alpingi was established there, the original site of the Icelandic Parliament, founded in AD 930, and situated along the mid-Atlantic ridge. The long deep cracks, running from the north-east to the south west, give the landscape the appearance of a crevassed glacier. The peaks of the national park are covered by snow amongst the country's largest lake, Lake Thingvallavatn. Here you can enjoy a range of spectacular walks with beautiful scenery.

Strokkur

Nearby the 'Great Geysir' spouts and sprays water up to 30 - 35 meters every three to eight minutes. Photographers will have to be quick, or they'll miss the eruptions which normally last only a couple of seconds. Although tourists make a lot of fuss over Iceland's geysers, some locals maintain that the famous fountains are just a variation on Icelandic rain, which falls in every other direction. Around the site are lots of colorful hot springs, steaming vents, warm streams and psychedelic algae and mineral deposits.

Gullfoss

If Iceland had a star attraction then Gullfoss is certainly it. This waterfall is not necessarily the largest in Iceland, but is by far the most impressive. Here the river Hvita drops a total of 32 meters in two falls and the canyon above and below them is 70 meters deep and 2.5 Km long. When the sun is shining you are likely to see a rainbow through the ample spray that forms.

Hvolsvollur

To the south of Thorsmork, lies Hvolsvollur which is a small village of about 700 people. Many tourists stop here, as it is an ideal location between Reykjavik and the South Coast. In the beautiful Icelandic countryside, you can enjoy the amazing scenery that Iceland has to offer.

Day 5 : Skogar & Vik - Concert Performance
Eyjafjallajokull Icecap

Although it's small by Icelandic standards, Eyjafjallajokull Icecap covers around 100 sq. km. Deep beneath the ice lurks an active volcano, which erupted in 1612, 1822, and 2010. Here we will have an icecap viewing and observation.

Seljalandfoss

View the beautiful Seljalandfoss, situated 29Km west of Skogar, a high and wispy waterfall and is one of the most unique in Iceland. This spectacular waterfall allows you to walk behind it on a path, so take a waterproof or umbrella to limit the spray.

Skogar Folk Museum

Discover striking examples of Iceland's history. It's housed in a series of old sod-roofed farmhouses and there's also a modern building with extensive historical exhibits dealing with life in southern Iceland.

Skogarfoss

Approximately 500 metres west of Skogar is a 60 metre-high waterfall, Skogarfoss, the lowest of over 20 waterfalls along the river route to the mountain hut. There is a legend that an early settler hid a chest of booty somewhere near Skogafoss, but it has never been found. Skogafoss is a spectacular waterfall with cliffs surrounding this location.

Travel To Vik

We continue on our journey from Skogar area to Vik.

Vik

Although it's the rainiest spot in Iceland, there's no denying that Vik, Iceland's southernmost village, is beautiful. The broad, sandy beaches of the south coast are punctuated here by craggy cliffs and headland teeming with bird life and pounded high by the waves. Offshore are Viks trademarks, the photographed sea stacks of Reynisdrangar. They dominate the view out to sea and their cliffs are simply squawking with activity, the higher of the two rises at 66 meters above the sea.

Final Concert Performance

Your concert performance is today

Day 6 : Blue Lagoon & Reykjavik
Travel to Reykjavik

We continue on our journey from Vik to Reykjavik.

Krysuvik Geothermal Field

Discover the Krysuvik Geothermal Field steaming vents, fumaroles, mud pots, clay and solfataras which became more active after an earthquake in the 1920s. You can explore it on a series of boardwalks, there is a fair amount of steam, if the wind is blowing from the west you many get a good drenching, therefore this is subject to the weather.

Eldborg Volcano

We will stop at the prominent Eldborg Volcano, a cone shaped volcano, an easy half-hour walk from the road, which rises 100 metres. We will climb to the top of the crater to take a look down into the volcano.

Blue Lagoon

Relax and enjoy the world famous bright blue mineral-rich swimming pool, with geothermally heated water in the middle of a large lava field. A swim in the Blue Lagoon can be an amazing experience. Great clouds of vapour rise from the water, parting from time to time to reveal the immense stacks and buildings of power plant and moss-covered lava formations in the back group. The bottom is covered with chalky rocks and slimy white silica mud.

Dinner

This evening, dinner will be provided in a local restaurant.
