Shanghai

• Yuan Garden: Four hundred years ago, a merchant spent almost twenty years—and all his life savings—to build a garden in order to please his parents in their old age. “Yu” means peace and health in Chinese. Over the past several centuries, the Yu Garden has been restored and reopened several times, but has almost always been in disarray. In 1956, the Shanghai city government took over and restored it to its former splendor, making it a peaceful oasis in the heart of bustling Shanghai. Outside the garden gates, the Old Bazaar is the perfect place to strike a bargain or chat with locals selling a variety of wares and souvenirs.
• Shanghai Tower: Stands in the heart of the Lujiazui Financial Zone in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area. The majestic high-rise boasts 127 floors above the ground and 5 floors below ground level. Of the 578,000-square meters total construction space, 410,000 square meters rise above the ground, with 168,000 square meters built underground. The project covers an area of 30,368 square meters.The building encompasses business, hotel, entertainment and sighting. At 632 meters, Shanghai Tower is now the tallest building in China, and the second tallest in the world.
• Shanghai Urban Planning & Exhibition Center: The Exhibition Center is a six-storey building, with two basement levels, which displays Shanghai’s urban planning and development. The focus of the exhibit is a large scale model of the entirety of urban Shanghai, showing existing buildings and approved future buildings. Other exhibits relate to Shanghai’s history and planned development, including smaller scaled models focussing on particular areas of interest such as the Bund.
• French Concession: Under the administration of the French from 1849 to 1946, the French Concession today is a pleasant mix of wide tree-lined avenues and interesting European-style architecture. Gorgeous art deco and Tudor-style mansions retain a very European feel, despite being in the heart of Shanghai. As the premiere residential and retail district of Shanghai, the French Concession is replete with boutique shops, charming cafes and exceptional restaurants.

Xi’an

• Terra Cotta Warriors Museum: The Terra Cotta Warriors is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of  Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BCE and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The figures, dating from approximately the late third century BCE, were discovered in 1974 by local farmers

Shangqiu

• The Ancient City of Shangqiu: It has a history of more than four thousand years. The existing city of Guidefu City has more than 500 years history. It is now the only existing ancient city ruins which was one set of eight diagrams city, water city, city pile city. The pattern of the ancient city of Shangqiu is a model of the ancient city, which is unique not only in China but also in other countries in the world. It is also one of the most valuable parts of the ancient city of Shangqiu.
• Yingtian Academy: Also known as Suiyang Academy, Nanjing Academy, Nandu Academy and Nanjing imperial college, is located at the southern lakeside of the ancient city of Shangqiu. It is one of the four famous academies in ancient China.
• Zhang xun Temple: Located outside the south gate of the ancient city of Shangqiu. It was built to commemorate Zhang Xun and Xu Yuan who defended Fuyang (Shangqiu) City in the “Anshi Rebellion” in Tang Dynasty. Zhang Xun led his only 6,800 soldiers to resist the 130,000 rebels and launched a battle to defend the Fuyang city. Although it failed due to the huge gap finally, it effectively stopped the rebels went into south and won enough time for the counter-offensive of the Tang Dynasty.

Nanjing

• Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum：It is situated at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin in Nanjing, China. Construction of the tomb started in January 1926, and was finished in spring of 1929. Sun, considered to be the “Father of Modern China” both in mainland China and in Taiwan, fought against the imperial Qing government and after the 1911 Revolution ended the monarchy, and founded the Republic of China.
• Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum: It is the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the Ming Dynasty. It lies at the southern foot of Purple Mountain, located east of the historical centre of Nanjing, China. Legend says that in order to prevent robbery of the tomb, 13 identical processions of funeral troops started from 13 city gates to obscure the real burying site. The construction of the mausoleum began during the Hongwu Emperor’s life in 1381 and ended in 1405, during the reign of his son the Yongle Emperor, with a huge expenditure of resources involving 100,000 labourers. The original wall of the mausoleum was more than 22.5 kilometres long. The mausoleum was built under heavy guard of 5,000 troops.
