Explore the opportunities and challenges Taiwan faces as a powerhouse democracy situated right off the coast of an economic giant, while maintaining its global status as a capitalist champion.
Taiwan depends on imports for nearly 98% of total energy consumption. Although strategically located adjacent to major ocean transportation channels, including the Taiwan Strait, the security concern for dependence remains.
