Outdoor Education in Arizona – River & Canyon Ecology
The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and reaches a depth of a mile. While some aspects of the canyon's history are debated by geologists, several recent studies support the hypothesis that the Colorado River established its course through the area about 6 million years ago. During this outdoor camping and education program in Utah and Arizona, students will learn from field experts, scientists, and National Park rangers as they study the history of the area. This itinerary showcases the very best of the American Southwest, from the legendary Grand Canyon to the ancient wonders of Wupatki.
