Athens - 4 days

Walking City Tour (Guided)

Follow your guide through the ancient city of Athens as they give you a crash course in Greek history. Immerse yourself into the local culture as you stop at world-renown landmarks and marvel at the impacts Ancient Greek civilization has on the modern-day world.

Acropolis (Guided)

The Acropolis, its name meaning "high point [in the] city," houses some of the most historically important buildings of ancient Greece, including the Parthenon - a temple dedicated to the patron of Athens and goddess of wisdom, Athena. Construction of the Parthenon began in 447 BC and took roughly 15 years to complete, although the hilltop temple overlooking the Greek capital has taken on repeated damage over the centuries, leaving only a few remnants and the outer columns of the temple intact. Despite this, the Parthenon stands proudly atop the city and serves as a symbol of Ancient Greece, western civilization, and Athenian democracy. Fun fact: The Parthenon temple was archaeo-astronomically aligned to the Hyades, a well-known star cluster in space that occupied an important role in ancient Greek mythology! The Acropolis is also home to the Erechtheion Temple, the Propylaea Gateway, Pandroseion, the Old Temple of Athena, and the Temple of Athena Nike. – Entrance fees included.

Acropolis Museum (Guided)

Standing at the foot of the Acropolis, the new Acropolis Museum which was constructed in 2009, displays nearly 4,000 artifacts from Ancient Greece. Explore the collections while admiring the view of the Acropolis. – Entrance fees included.

Greek Cooking Class (Guided)

Enjoy a cooking class using organic ingredients grown locally. The Mediterranean diet, with its emphasis on eating primarily plant-based foods, whole grains and legumes, is perhaps the world’s healthiest diet. A “blue zone” can be found on one of its islands, Ikaria, where people have one of the longest disability-free life expectancies in the world. – Entrance fees included.

Vougliameni Beach (Self-Guided)

Spend either a few hours or a whole day away from the hustle and bustle of Greece's capital at one of the most popular beaches for Athens’ residents. The Vougliameni beaches are well organized and offer sandy beaches, umbrellas and sunbeds, and plenty of options for seaside restaurants and cafes. – Entrance fees included.

Delphi

Archaeological Site of Delphi

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Delphi’s archaeological site is one of the most important in Greece, second only to the Acropolis of Athens. Enjoy access to the Temple of Apollo, the Stadium of Delphi, the Sacred Way at the Delphic Sanctuary, and others ruins that date back to the Mycenaean period (1600-1100 B.C.). – Entrance fees included.

Olympia - 2 days

Olympia Land Winery Tour and Tasting (Guided)

Visit a local family winery near the archaeological site! During your tour, learn about wine production and distribution as you walk the vineyards. After your tour, participate in a sampling event where you will taste wines and other homemade and/or traditional snacks. – Entrance fees included.

Archaeological Site of Olympia (Guided)

“The site of Olympia, in a valley in the Peloponnesus, has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In the 10th century B.C., Olympia became a centre for the worship of Zeus. The Altis – the sanctuary to the gods – has one of the highest concentrations of masterpieces from the ancient Greek world. In addition to temples, there are the remains of all the sports structures erected for the Olympic Games, which were held in Olympia every four years beginning in 776 B.C.”: UNESCO – Entrance fees included.

Olympia Archaeological Museum (Guided)

This museum is one of the most visited museums in all of Greece. Here you will find some of the most significant exhibitions of Ancient Greece as well as depictions of Zeus and the Olympic Games. – Entrance fees included.
