Head of Academics
Kiersten Teitelbaum leads the Academics team at WorldStrides with over 20 years working with students in various experiential learning and academic disciplines. At WorldStrides, the Academics Department is central in ensuring that students are learning in their areas of interest, supporting future academic growth, and developing themselves personally through building maturity, independence, and awareness of diverse perspectives. WorldStrides believes strongly that education exists at the core of every experience and Academics is there to ensure that these opportunities are of the highest quality possible.
Central to WorldStrides’ mission, Kiersten has always worked to support learners of all ages. Beginning in middle school when she was asked to assist the coaches in basketball play development, leading to a pivotal travel opportunity to Italy with her Latin class, Kiersten has always seen immense value in the learning that occurs outside of traditional environments. Classroom educators today are heroes, advocating for the academic needs and wellbeing of students across our vast world. Through WorldStrides, we can further support their efforts by providing transformative experiences that weave together classroom learning and the real world.
Kiersten is a three-time graduate of the University of Virginia, with degrees in Anthropology, Social Foundations of Education, and Curriculum & Instruction. When not seeking personal academic learning opportunities, Kiersten can be found enjoying time with her family, supporting the local school system, competing or coaching, and finding new exciting opportunities to see the world.
