Rainbow River
Students see abundant wildlife as they snorkel in the crystal fresh water of the Rainbow River. They may even get to see prehistoric shark’s teeth, which are being released as the underground limestone caverns erode. The 5.7 miles of winding river have attracted and sustained human inhabitants for over 10,000 years. Students take in the beautiful scenery, and catch a glimpse of hawks, white-tailed deer, countless wading birds, and much more.
Did you know:
- The springs that feed the Rainbow River produce between 400-600 million gallons of fresh water daily, and are a constant 73°F year round.
