Recipe For Success Cooks Up Creativity
If you are planning an educational trip with WorldStrides this school year, you’re familiar with our Recipe for Success. This step-by-step guide to a successful travel program is a promotional roadmap that combines lessons from WorldStrides’ 43 years of experience to help Program Leaders achieve the most successful travel program possible. If you follow our Recipe carefully, you’ll not only have fun creating an unforgettable travel experience for your students, you’ll also be more likely to have a successful trip. Remember, the most important ingredient in the Recipe for Success is you – the Program Leader!
Shawn Conlin has traveled as a Program Leader with WorldStrides for 16 years. She has led students on history trips to Washington, D.C., for more than half of her 27-year teaching career. While sitting in study hall one afternoon, Ms. Conlin was thinking about the posters that she’d recently hung in the hallway to promote her WorldStrides trip. She recalled the cadence of the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas” and was inspired to share her Recipe for Success experience in a poem! She wanted to let her Account Manager know that she had completed the Recipe for Success, so she shared her poem with the Account Manager, and now we’re sharing it with you.
The posters are hung in the hallway with care,
I handed out envelopes with several to spare.
My students are watching the video today,
And we are discussing the ways they may pay.
I met with their parents on Open House Night,
The room was quite full, it was a great sight.
I omitted the Online Parent Presentation,
But next year will show it without hesitation.
We had a Premier Jewelry display,
And thus our fundraising is well underway.
Registered participants now number fifteen,
And how many more is yet to be seen.
I will keep on promoting and pushing the trip,
Then hopefully registration date won’t by them slip!
The Recipe for Success is helping Ms. Conlin with trip promotion and allowing her to reach as many students as possible. There are already 25 students registered for her Discover D.C.program for next spring, and she hopes to take a total of 35 students. Thanks to the proven techniques detailed in the Recipe for Success, Ms. Conlin is creating excitement and anticipation among all of her students!
