Teach Through Educational Travel: Passion Facade at La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
Download a larger image of the Passion Facade and share the photo with your class, then try these discussion questions and classroom activities:
- This scene is from a much larger carving of the death of Jesus. What is the message of this group of figures? Who has power? Is there more than one figure with power? How do you know that?
- The cathedral that this is a part of is one of a number of buildings in Barcelona that were built using what is called a Modernista style. What do you imagine the cathedral will look like? Make a few sketches and then do some research.
