2022 WorldStrides Photo & Video Contest!

The 2022 Photo & Video Contest is finally here! We have some awesome prizes to give away and can’t wait to see all your submissions. This contest is open to all WorldStrides and Explorica by WorldStrides student travelers who had or have trips between September 1, 2021-June 30, 2022.

Categories

There are 8 categories in total. You may submit as many entries as you would like, however, participants may only win up to two times (once in a non-grand prize category, and once for the grand prize category).

Photo Categories

World’s Best Teacher

In honor of teacher appreciation week this May, let’s shout out our amazing teachers that have gone above and beyond this year. Strike your best pose with the teacher(s) who took you on the trip of a lifetime and tell us a bit about what makes them the best! We’ll give a shout out to every teacher submitted.

Wow – That was Amazing!

Send us that breath taking photo of an activity you and your group did that made you say “wow.” You know…the one you sent to your friends and family to show off how much fun you’re having?

Selfie Sticks

Grab those selfie sticks and take your best selfie (or group selfie) to show off something cool you’re doing (make us all jealous).

Bon Appétit

We all love a good food photo. Snap a photo of you and your friends eating a culturally specific meal, snack, or dessert!

Video Categories

Lights, Camera, Action!

Send us a 30-60 second reel or TikTok-style video of candid moments showing what a great time you’re having with your friends and program leaders.

Brain Boost

Share something interesting you discovered or learned on your trip. This could be something educational you did or something you saw worth sharing about.

You Inspire Me

How has traveling positively impacted you? In 30-60 seconds, take a video telling us what impact your trip has had on you. We’d love to see your face, but if you’re camera shy, this can be done by using a voice-over accompanied by footage of your trip.

Grand Prize Category (Video)

My WorldStrides Moment: Grand Finale (Grand Prize) *

Send us a 60 second compilation reel or TikTok-style video highlighting all the best parts of your trip. Whether it was walking down the street of a cool city, learning something new, or taking photos of all the cool things you saw and did, we want to see all of it! This is for the grand prize, so give it your all!

*The winner for the grand prize category will be selected on June 30, 2022.

Rules for Submission

• Submissions are open from March 14, 2022 – June 30, 2022.
• There are no limits on how many photos or categories you can submit to
• You must be the original artist – the one who took the photo or video, and the editor, if applicable
• You must be a student participant of a WorldStrides or Explorica by WorldStrides program between September 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022
• No copyrighted music in videos

Voting and Winner Selection

• Prize winners will be chosen by WorldStrides’ team of creatives, based on image composition, image resolution and overall quality, candidness, significance of content, originality, creativity, and overall presentation
• 7 winners will be chosen every two weeks (one winner per category excluding the grand prize category) starting March 14 until June 30. Winners will be notified by email
• There will be one grand prize winner chosen on June 30, 2022
• Winners of non-grand prize categories will have two prize options to choose from. Prize option #1 includes: a $50 Amazon gift card, a Xenvo Pro Lens Kit for iPhone and Android, and a WorldStrides insulated water bottle. Prize option #2 includes: a $50 Amazon gift card, a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 + Film and a WorldStrides insulated water bottle
• The grand prize winner will receive a $500 Amazon gift card, a Canon EOS Rebel T7 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm EF-S f/3.5-5.6 is II Lens + 58mm Wide Angle Lens + 2X Telephoto Lens + Flash + 2X 32GB SD Cards + 3 Piece Filter Kit + Tripod + Full Accessory Bundle and a WorldStrides backpack
