Announcing WorldStrides 2018 Lesson Plan Contest Winners!
The WorldStrides 2018 Lesson Plan Contest has come to an end, and we are thrilled to share the spoils with you! Our Curriculum and Academics Team evaluated each submitted lesson plan for instructional integrity and chose winning lesson plans that were so robust that they looked ready to be taught tomorrow, explored content in an accessible way, and honored the WorldStrides educational philosophy of Learning through Exploring and Actively Participating (“LEAP”).
Thank you to all who submitted their materials!
A BIG congratulations to our grand prize winner, Alexander Purdy, whose Pre-Trip submission “Washington, D.C. Museum” earned him $1500!

It wasn’t easy for the judges to pick our winners! Here’s what they had to say:
“It’s obvious that all of the teachers care about the learning outcomes of their students.” – Carrie Weber, Senior Curriculum and Academics Specialist
“The breadth and detail of the lesson plans submitted was impressive and made it hard to choose a winner.” – Robert Moreno, Curriculum and Academics Specialist
“It’s refreshing to see such a variety of student engagement strategies.” – Randi Chapman, Curriculum and Academics Specialist
“The lesson plans we reviewed show the passion and educational experience that our educators have when approaching their classrooms, trips, and learning outcomes for their students. Our teachers truly exemplify educational excellence!” – Kiersten Teitelbaum, Associate Director of Education
“Teachers who understand the value of experiential learning are attentive to designing meaningful activities, to providing substantive feedback, and to making important connections between learning objectives and the real world. It was an honor to review the lesson plan submissions with my team!” – Wendy Amato, Chief Academic Officer
