Depending on flight arrival time, we will visit the National Museum of Slovenia. This museum houses the oldest instrument in the world on a permanent exhibition, a Stone Age bone flute. The museum also features ceiling frescoes, a Celtic pail from 6th century BCE, as well as Roman artifacts.
Journey outside the city today to Slovenia’s most popular resort. Crowds are drawn by the picture perfect scenery, the rocky, cliff-side castle, and nature adventures.
Bled CastleBlejski Grad, dating back to 1004, is a stunning castle perched above Lake Bled. Roam through the medieval castle and take in the breathtaking views of the Alps and explore the castle Museum whose collection dates back to the 19th century.
First Concert PerformanceWe bid farewell to Ljubljana this morning, making the drive to Zagreb, a former stop on the Orient Express where Eastern and Western Europe meet.
Explore ZagrebTake a Walking Tour of Zagreb, including stops at Dolac Market, selling groceries to local craftwork; and the Trg Ban Jeličić, where musicians often gather to play.
Croatian National TheatreTour where operas, ballets, and theatre are performed. The baroque style of the building appears in tiny details, from hand crafted curtains to miniature swans on the railings.
Second Concert PerformanceSpend today exploring the Plitvice Lakes. See the Lower Lakes, which is open year round. The National Park contains 16 lakes, all inter-connected by cascading waterfalls. The turquoise blue lakes are listed among UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.

Sea Organ and Sun SalutationListen to the Sea Organ and watch the Sun Salutation light spectacle. Designed by the architect Nikola Bašić, the sea organ is composed of a series of “steps” leading down to the water. Water and air flow under these steps into resonant chambers to create a unique sound. The Sun Salutation, a series of solar cells that absorb the sun’s energy during the day, convert the sun’s energy into electricity to illuminate the waterfront with displays of colorful lights at night
Our journey continues today as we travel to Dubrovnik, stopping along the way in Trogir.
TrogirTake a Guided Tour of Trogir. Nicknamed the Adriatic’s Venice for its labyrinth of narrow streets and mix of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Hellenistic buildings, Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been well maintained since Venetian times.
St. Lawrence CathedralStop at St. Lawrence Cathedral and climb the tower for stunning views of the city. St. Lawrence Cathedral is renowned for the Romanesque Portal (built in 1240) by one of Croatia’s greatest sculptors, master Radovan. [activity title="Dubrovnik"]Our day will end in Dubrovnik, where we will spend the next two nights. The white limestone streets and baroque buildings are beautifully offset by the blue Adriatic, with ancient city walls still intact for exploration.
Take a Cable Car up to Mt Srđ and visit Fort Imperial, built in 1806-1816 during the Napoleonic Wars. This mountain was home to one of the fiercest battles of the 1991-1995 Croatian War of Independence, namely the Siege of Dubrovnik.
Museum DubrovnikVisit the Museum Dubrovnik in Homeland War and learn about the aggression of Serbia and Montenegro on Dubrovnik in 1991. Enjoy some free time this afternoon to explore. We may wish to walk along the Medieval Walls to the Minceta Fortress.
Final Concert PerformanceOur most memorable and rewarding journey will come to an end as our Tour Director accompanies us to the airport.
