Learn more about our exciting new Science Discoveries programs
At WorldStrides, we are constantly seeking new ways for students to experience educational travel. That’s why we are excited to offer two new Science Discoveries programs to our already robust offerings to locations including Florida, California, Iceland, and Costa Rica. These new programs travel to Hawaii and Alaska giving students the opportunity to experience hands on science in diverse, unique locations.
Ultimate Alaska
Nicknamed “The Last Frontier,” Alaska offers breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife viewing, and so much more. On our new Ultimate Alaska program, students arrive in Anchorage, where they meet their WorldStrides representative for a team building exercise, dinner, and a good night’s sleep before their adventures in the Alaska wild begins.
While in Alaska, students visit Potter Marsh where they stop at the southernmost point in the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge to walk a boardwalk that extends 1,500-feet into marsh to study Canada Geese, canvasback ducks, northern pintails, and even eagles. Students also travel deep into Denali National Park where they are encouraged to keep their cameras at the ready for photo ops of The Big Five—caribou, grizzly bear, Dall sheep, moose, and wolves.
Students will experience Kenai Fjords National Park, Seward Sealife Center, an evening hike to Exit Glacier, and so much more, exploring some of the best destinations Alaska has to offer.
Discover Hawaii
Hawaii, the Aloha State, feels like it’s a world away from the moment students arrive in Kona. While on our new Discover Hawaii program, students get an up close and personal look at Hawaii’s beautiful landscape and unique culture.
At Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, students will hike through volcanic craters, scalded deserts, and lush rainforests. After a visit to Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, students will be treated to a traditional Hawaiian Lu’au and authentic Polynesian show where they will learn how to play the ukulele, participate in a hula dance, and discuss the local legends and the cultural connections Hawaiian people have to their land.
While in Hawaii, students will snorkel in the brilliant blue waters and see vibrant coral, tropical fish, and, on occasion, spinner dolphins. In addition to Kona, groups will travel to the island of Oahu to visit Pearl Harbor, tour the USS Missouri and climb Diamond Head.
We are excited to offer these two new Science Discoveries programs and provide students with once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Are you ready to learn more? Click here or speak to your Account Manager.
