The British Soccer Experience: Glasgow & Manchester

Scottish soccer dates back to 1872 and is home to the famous "Old Firm" rivalry between Celtic F.C. and Rangers F.C.The first ever international soccer match took place at Hamilton Crescent Park in Patrick, where England and Scotland drew even at 0-0. The rules of association football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863 and the sport has become the passion of England ever since. England boasts the Premier League, the most famous soccer league in the world, which includes renowned teams like Manchester United, Arsenal FC, and Liverpool FC.

Day 3 : Glasgow
Edinburgh excursion

The capital of Scotland, Edinburgh has steep streets and stone buildings zigzagging up hills and down into small valleys, and the brooding Edinburgh Castle looms over the whole thing. Visit the castle and stroll down the Royal Mile, then enjoy free time to explore New Town's Charlotte Square, with its elegant Georgian townhouses. See where inventor Alexander Graham Bell was born in 1847, pass Robert Louis Stevenson's birthplace near the Royal Botanic Garden, and stroll by the monument commemorating Scottish poet Robert Burns. Hear the castle's ramparts echo with gunfire at 1 p.m. Gaze out at the steep slopes and craggy cliffs of the northwest Highlands, visible from Edinburgh's highest points. Peer down into the blue sea stretching out beyond the city.

Day 4 : Glasgow
Professional coaching clinic

Participate in a special coaching clinic with a guest coach, player, or instructor. The clinic will be designed exclusively for the team and to enhance skills in areas identified by the coaching staff.

Glasgow city walk

Home of Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow is the center of contemporary Scottish culture and a hotbed of trendy restaurants, boutiques, and pubs. Glasgow grew around a church built in the mid-6th century, but many of its most impressive buildings are from the 19th century, when an industrial boom led to a building frenzy. Your Tour Director will lead you to some of the city's most famous sites, passing Glasgow's blend of modern and traditional architecture. See the Venetian-style colonnaded façade of the city chambers, take in the statuary at George Square, and peek into the academic world of Strathclyde University. Glasgow has more than just buildings—it's often referred to as "the dear green place" because of its many parks.

Celtic football club stadium guided visit

Celtic Park is one of the biggest football stadiums in Europe, making it the perfect place to learn all about the colorful history and heritage of Celtic Football Club, beginning from its inception in 1888. Experience firsthand Celtic's heritage and culture that has made the club famous and renowned the world over. Take a guided visit of the stadium as well as a trip through the history of the club through informative and impressive exhibitions.

Day 5 : Glasgow
Trossachs excursion

The Trossachs, home to Rob Roy and Loch Lomond, is a region of craggy hills, sparkling lochs and rich culture. Scotland’s first national park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park now make up a large part of the area.

Travel to Manchester

Travel from central Scotland to the Manchester area. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery and stop around the border for some free time to stretch your legs and explore.

Day 7 : Manchester
Manchester United Museum and Old Trafford stadium tour

See the home of the most famous soccer team in the world. Manchester United's stadium, Old Trafford, hosts the richest football club in Britain, and you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the seats, changing rooms, and field. Fill in any gaps in your trivia and stats knowledge at the attached museum.

Manchester United Megastore

Spend time exploring and shopping in the world-renowned Manchester United Megastore. From shirts to scarves, mugs to mouse pads, everything you could possibly want from Manchester United can be found here. In fact, there are more than 800 product lines available on the shelves, which are spread over 17,000 square feet. The Megastore is one of the biggest shops devoted to football in the world, and more than one million people file through its doors annually.

Day 8 : Manchester
Liverpool excursion

Liverpool is a historic maritime city in northwest England, where the River Mersey meets the Irish Sea. A key trade and migration port from the 18th to the early 20th centuries, it is also, famously, the hometown of The Beatles. Ferries cruise the waterfront, where the iconic shipping and mercantile buildings known as the "Three Graces" stand on the Pier Head. Explore Albert Dock, built of brick stone and cast iron, which opened in 1846, saw a long period of decline, and has now been extensively renovated and refurbished. In addition to countless shops and restaurants, the area is home to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Museum of Liverpool Life, the Beatles Story, and the Tate Gallery.

Attend a professional soccer match featuring teams from the top leagues. Seeing the top talent in the world in person would itself be an unforgettable experience, but add the passionate crowds singing, cheering, and chanting, and you will enter an atmosphere that can only be understood through personal experience.
