Meet the Faculty

Kristen Hogan

Instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences
Kristen Hogan has been an Instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences since 2019. Since her time here, she has developed numerous courses, but her favorite course is the Infectious Diseases, Human Health, and Ethics course (BIOL 202). As a microbiologist in training, she has always been fascinated with bacteria and disease. Dr. Hogan seeks to make biology and infectious disease accessible to all and connects infectious diseases to ethics. Stemming from the BIOL 202 course, Dr. Hogan plans to further students’ understanding of infectious diseases by providing this experiential learning component course, Exploration of Infectious Diseases Abroad (BIOL 203). Her hope is that students can share their excitement of infectious disease and ethics and utilize this active learning experience to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of infectious diseases and their implications on society.
