Spend the summer in Spain! Students will be immersed in Spanish culture and language in this 13-day cross-country tour. Tour Madrid, the vibrant capital city of Spain, then travel to the medieval town of Toledo to explore its ancient culture and narrow alleys. Journey to Granada to visit the spectacular Alhambra fortress, and discover the lush Generalife Gardens. Continue your adventure in the cliffside town of Ronda, before heading to Seville to explore the grand Alcázar. Visit the seaside city of Barcelona, known for its art and architecture. Finally, journey to Montserrat, home of one of Spain's most esteemed icons.

Picturesque views of a fairy-tale castle lure you inside Segovia's famous Alcázar on today's optional adventure.

Discover King Phillip II's imposing palace, El Escorial. This massive structure is home to over 500 frescoes and 1600 paintings by famous artists such as Velazquez and El Greco. Today the palace functions as a monastery, royal palace, museum and school.

Explore Toledo

Journey to the golden city of Toledo, a medieval town perched above the Rio Tagus. Visit the Gothic cathedral, the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, a local sword factory, and the Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes.

Day 6 : Granada
Visit the Alhambra Fortress

With a local guide, venture into the massive Alhambra fortress to see a regal compound of royal residences, interlocking rooms, courtyards and fountains. Later, stroll through the Generalife Gardens.

Journey to the Costa del Sol

Day 7 : Tangier
Optional Excursion to Morocco

Hop on a boat for an optional day excursion to Morocco. A local guide introduces Tangier. At the Grand Socco, you’ll see where past meets present in this city crossroads, once a busy marketplace occupied by musicians and snake charmers. Pass through the gates of the medina to explore the narrow, twisting roads within the old city walls.

Continue your adventure in Córdoba with a visit to the rose and blue marbled Mezquita, once second only to Mecca as the most important mosque in Islam. Gaze up at the statue of Jewish philosopher Maimonaides in the flower-accented Jewish quarter.

Board the AVE to Barcelona

Day 11 : Barcelona
Explore Barcelona with a Local Guide

Accompany a local guide to the sights of Spain's second largest city. Wonder at Gaudí's unfinished Sagrada Família and his Parc Güell. Stroll through the historic Barri Gòtic. Stop by Gaudí's Casa Milà.

Day 12 : Montserrat
Journey to Montserrat

Enjoy a morning journey to Montserrat - a holy mountain that is home to the mysterious wish-granting Black Madonna statue.

Return to Barcelona

This afternoon return to Barcelona to explore and enjoy this incredible city.

Day 13 : Return Home OR Extend Your Trip
Depart from Spain

Board your flight home or extend your travels with a two-night extension to Palma.

Extend your stay | Visit Palma

Opt for two nights in Palma. Board a morning flight to the island of Majorca. City sightseeing with a local guide brings you to the Old Town, Gothic Cathedral, and Bellver Castle. The next day, you are free to relax on one of the gorgeous pristine beaches of Palma.

Tour Central is staffed by WorldStrides employees and is available 24/7 for all traveling groups. Tour Central is there to assist you with any questions or problems that may arise—no matter how big or how small. The staff is specially trained to monitor events domestically and around the world, and has dozens of contingency plans in place to help us jump into action when necessary. The Tour Central number for your group is printed on the WorldStrides name badges that are given to all our travelers for easy access should you need it. This is just one of the many measures that we take to ensure that your trip really is the experience of a lifetime.

Up to Three College Credits Included with this Program

Through our Discovery for Credit Program, students traveling on an international WorldStrides program have the opportunity to earn academic credit by completing an online course that allows them to reflect upon many of the themes and topics explored during their travel program. Those in grades 6–12 at the time of travel can earn free elective high school credit upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Through our university partner, George Mason University, eligible students in grades 9-12 at the time of travel can earn up to three college credits upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Students who earn credit with WorldStrides will find this distinguishes them as online learners and gives them a jump-start on their path to a successful higher education experience.
