London theatre group performance
Theatre groups often enjoy performing at theatres, museums and cultural centers, significant historic sights, festivals occurring while they tour or exchange performances with local schools, universities, or community groups. Outdoor venues in plazas or city squares are also wonderful options. For all performances we work closely with each group to ensure the perfect venue to meet their vision. Speak with your WorldStrides representative about what options would be best for your group.
Carnaby and Regent Street walking tour
Day 5
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre guided visit
Visit and take a tour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Museum, housed in a reconstruction of the original theater that closed in 1642 and dedicated to the experience and international understanding of Shakespeare in performance. The museum explores the costumes, special effects, music and printing and publishing process during the Shakespearean era.
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre interactive workshop
Vendors selling sandwiches, open-air seating, and boisterous crowds—it sounds more like a ballgame than a Shakespeare play. In Elizabethan England, the Globe Theatre was a lively, noisy gathering place where audiences laughed, heckled, and cheered. This faithful 1990s reconstruction brings that experience to life. Learn how actors perform in natural daylight, interacting with the “groundlings” just as in Shakespeare’s time, and how costumers hand-stitch garments from antique fabrics. Discover how minimal scenery challenges directors to rely on language, imagination, and audience connection. Please note: Workshops are limited to students and a small number of accompanying adults; others will enjoy a guided tour of the Globe.
West End theatre performance
End the day with a night at the theatre in London’s West End, the UK’s answer to Broadway. Enjoy one of nearly 40 world-class productions surrounded by lively restaurants, shops, and cafés. Please note: Performance dates may vary based on availability.
Day 6
Stratford full-day excursion
Anne Hathaway’s Cottage visit, Shakespeare's Birthplace visit
Royal Shakespeare Company Performance (pending availability)
See the renowned RSC perform in Shakespeare's hometown. Formed in 1905, the RSC has employed such great actors as John Gielgud, Vivien Leigh, Laurence Olivier, Judi Dench, and Sir Ian McKellen. (If the theater is unavailable, a play in London will be substituted)
Day 7
Tower of London visit
Step inside the Tower of London, a vast 18-acre fortress of 20 towers, winding staircases, and hidden passages on the Thames. From the 11th to 16th centuries it served as royal palace, treasury, and prison. Learn the fate of Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, two wives of Henry VIII executed here, see the Crown Jewels with their dazzling 530-carat diamond, and hear stories brought to life by the Beefeaters who still guard its gates.
National Theatre performance
National Theatre backstage tour
Situated on the South Bank, the National Theatre was at the center of a 200-year national debate before finally opening its doors in 1976. Today, it stages everything from classical plays to contemporary works across its three venues: the Olivier, the Lyttelton, and the Cottesloe.
