Bring your ensemble to discover Mozart’s birthplace on a performance tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In Munich, your musicians will see Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella Castle, explore the Deutsches Museum, and take center stage in a special evening concert. They’ll have similar experiences in Salzburg, Lucerne, and Interlaken—enjoying exciting cultural discoveries during the day and performing for international audiences at breathtaking venues.

Overnight flight to Germany (Munich)

Arrive in Munich
Meet your Tour Director
Your 24-hour Tour Director will meet you at the airport and remain with your group until your final airport departure.
Munich Alstadt (Old Town) city walk
Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus, Frauenkirche
Day 3
Hohenschwangau excursion
Visit the Bavarian village of Hohenschwangau and learn about Hohenschwangau Castle, the childhood home of King Ludwig II, with views of Lake Alpsee and the surrounding Alps. Then enjoy a scenic hike toward Neuschwanstein Castle and pause at Queen Mary’s Bridge for an unforgettable photo stop of the fairytale fortress and mountain landscape.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen excursion
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a charming Bavarian town famous for its breathtaking alpine landscapes, rich historical heritage, and vibrant local culture. The famous Ludwigstrasse in the heart of Partenkirchen is a charming street lined with traditional Bavarian buildings, quaint shops, and cozy cafes. It’s the perfect place to soak up the local atmosphere.
Munich performance
Potential venues include (but not limited to): Neuschwanstein Castle, Stifspfarrkirche St. Phillip and Jakob (in Altotting, a town east of Munich), or an exchange with a local school, university or community group. Additional options such as Neues Schloss Schleissheum are available at an additional cost.
Day 4
Deutsches Museum visit
Learn about the history and progress of science and technology through the state-of-the-art interactive exhibits in the world’s largest science museum including the Mathematics Gallery.
Travel to Salzburg via Herrenchiemsee
Herrenchiemsee New Palace visit
Modelled on Versailles, this palace was built as a "Temple of Fame" for King Louis XIV of France, whom the Bavarian monarch, King Ludwig II fervently admired. The highlights of palace include the State Staircase, the State Bedroom and the Great Hall of Mirrors. The king's own rooms were in the intimate Small Apartment, designed in the French rococo style.
Day 5
Salzburg Cathedral visit
Explore Salzburger Dom (Salzburg Cathedral), Which is world renowned for its 4,000-pipe organ. The cathedral has been hailed by some critics as the 'most perfect' Renaissance building in the Germanic countries. It features a marble facade and symmetrical twin towers.
Salzburg city walk
Old Town Square, Residenz Castle, Glockenspeil
Free time on Getreidegaße
Spend free time on Salzburg's most famous street, the Getreidegaße, which is lined with small shops, interesting houses and wrought-iron signs.
Salzburg performance
Potential venues include (but are not limited to): Mozarthaus, the Silent Night Chapel (for small choir only) where the song Silent Night was written, Kollegienkirche, an informal lunchtime performance at Salzburg Cathedral, or an exchange with a local school, university, or community group.

Travel to Lucerne via Innsbruck

Day 7
Lucerne Tour Director-led sightseeing
Explore Lucerne with your Tour Director, set against the Alps and green pastures. Walk the Old Town’s cobblestones to Chapel Bridge, a 14th-century wooden bridge decorated with murals, and see the Lion Monument, a sandstone tribute to Swiss Guards lost in 1792. Visit the ornate Jesuit Church and take in the charm of Weinmarkt and Kornmarkt Squares.
Mt. Pilatus excursion
Scale snow-capped Mount Pilatus for sweeping views of Lucerne and the Alps. From May to mid-November, cruise Lake Alpnach before riding the world’s steepest cog railway; the rest of the year, ascend by cable car. At the summit, capture frame-worthy photos, and on clear days, enjoy vistas stretching up to 200 miles.

Day 8
Hoheweg Promenade
We will spend the day surrounded by splendid mountain scenery. Our touring begins in the Höheweg Promenade, which covers 35 acres in the middle of town between the two train stations. Once the property of Augustinian monks, it was acquired in the 1800s by hotel keepers who turned it into a park.
Interlaken city walk
Unterseen visit
Cross over the Aare River to Unterseen, built in 1280 by Berthold von Eschenbach, to visit the Parish Church, with it's late-Gothic tower dating from 1471.
Interlaken performance
Groups often enjoy performances at churches (some have restricted sacred repertoire, while others allow secular), temples, museums and cultural centers, significant historic sites, or through exchange concerts with local schools, universities, or community groups. Participating in a cultural or performing arts festival can also be a rewarding experience. For all performances, we work closely with each group to ensure the perfect venue to meet their vision. Speak with your WorldStrides representative about what options would be best for your group.

Students can send e-cards, share links on social media, and even send out printed letters through WorldStrides' Gift of Education program. In one click friends and family members can make a direct donation to the trip - with 100% of the money raised going to offset their trip price. Thousands of students pay for their entire trip each year through the Gift of Education.
