In Oslo, leap back in time and walk amongst the mighty Vikings and their precious ships. Copenhagen is an old maritime city, with quaint canals that set the scene for many of Denmark’s charming fairy tales. Copenhagen, too, is known for its impressive waterways; countless ferries, sightseeing cruises, and recreational boaters sail beneath the more than 50 bridges around the city.

Castles of Northern Zealand full-day excursion

Oslo guided sightseeing tour
Explore Oslo on a professionally guided tour showcasing the city’s blend of modern innovation and rich history. Admire the striking Oslo Opera House, a sleek, glacier-like landmark rising from the harbor, and step back in time at the Akershus Fortress, a 14th-century stronghold that has guarded the city for centuries. Conclude your visit at Vigeland Sculpture Park, where more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland capture the full range of human emotion and creativity.

Explore a picturesque and charming neighborhood of central Oslo with well-preserved and inhabited wooden houses from the late 1700s and the 1800s.

Day 7
Travel to Stockholm via Orebro
Wadköping open-air museum visit
Discover how residents lived in Örebro hundreds of years ago. This open-air museum mimics an historic Swedish settlement, lined with old wooden buildings that house small exhibits, craft workshops and restaurants. Stroll down the serene center road and see 17th, 18th and 19th century buildings on one side, while the other side depicts Örebro’s streets after the great fire of 1854.

Stockholm guided sightseeing tour
In the heart of Stockholm, Gustav Adolfs Torg stands as the city’s central square, surrounded by landmarks like the Royal Opera, Ministry of Defense, and Swedish State Department. Nearby are the Swedish Parliament Building and the Swedish House of Lords, overlooking a terrace and restaurant dating back to 1832. In Stortorget Main Square, Stockholm’s oldest square, colorful facades and cobbled streets reveal the charm of the city’s medieval past.
Vasa Museum visit
Built in the 1600s, the Vasa was one of the most powerful warships of its time, boasting 64 cannons and intricate carvings. It tragically sank less than a mile into its maiden voyage and remained underwater for over 300 years before being raised in 1961, remarkably preserved.

Stockholm archipelago kayaking tour (optional)
Guided by a local expert, discover Stockholm's islands from the water. All kayaking equipment is included.

WorldStrides provides over $2.5 million in financial assistance each year to thousands of families. Families with annual adjusted gross incomes of less than $85,000 may qualify. One simple call to Customer Service and you’ll know how much may be available for your trip even before signing up. Please note: financial assistance is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

At program sign-up you can opt to pay in full, or break up the cost of your trip with the Advantage Payment Plan. This plan allows you to pay a small initial deposit, then have your remaining payments spread out into affordable monthly amounts.

Fundraising Tools
Our easy-to-use tools put students in the driver's seat of their own fundraising efforts. Students can send e-cards, share links on social media, and even send out printed letters through WorldStrides' Gift of Education program. In one click friends and family members can make a direct donation to the trip - with 100% of the money raised going to offset their trip price. Thousands of students pay for their entire trip each year through the Gift of Education.
