Teacher of the Year
WorldStrides Teacher of the Year: Holly Grefe
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, WorldStrides will be showcasing our five 2019 Teacher of the Year recipients. These teachers have gone above and beyond, inside of the classroom and out. We are thrilled to honor them for their commitment to students and share their stories!
Holly Grefe is a choir teacher at Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. She’s been teaching in the state of Louisiana for over 24 years, and in that time has changed the lives of a multitude of students. As a parent to several of Holly’s students said, “There is not a doubt that every student who journeys through Holly Grefe’s Choir is better prepared for the difficult world that lies before them. It is apparent that the lessons learned in the old choir room at Lafayette High School age well with time.”
Watch as we surprised her at Universal Studios during the awards ceremony of the Orlando Heritage Festival where Holly and her students performed, and hear more from her students and colleagues. Get your tissues ready! Congratulations Holly!
