Overview
This Italian language tour helps students expand their skills while immersing themselves in the life and culture of Sorrento. In addition to language and culture classes, students will enjoy walking tours of the Vatican and Colosseum in Rome, a gelato-making class, and Tarantella dance lessons. This is our most popular language study program in Italy.

Arrive in Rome
Meet your Tour Director
Your 24-hour Tour Director will meet you at the airport and remain with your group until your final airport departure.
Rome by night city walk
See the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna, Spanish Steps
Daily reflection and group discussion
“We do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience.” – John Dewey. Each evening of the program, time will be set aside to update your Reflection Journal and share the thoughts and impressions that emerged during the day.
Day 3
Rome guided sightseeing tour
Colosseum visit with Whisper headset, Arch of Constantine, Forum Romanum visit
Capitoline Museum visit
Get lost in an impressive collection of classical sculptures, Renaissance masterpieces, and archaeological treasures. Deepen your understanding of Italy’s rich heritage and culture as you explore its art and history.
Pantheon visit
Discover Rome’s best-preserved, ancient monument and learn about how it remains as the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome and contains the tombs of prominent Italian figures.
Day 4
Travel to Sorrento
Orientation meeting
We will have an orientation meeting to provide students with relevant information and useful tools to familiarize them with their host country and the program ahead.

Learn the traditional techniques of crafting authentic Italian gelato from expert artisans, set against the picturesque backdrop of Sorrento's charming streets and stunning coastline.
Day 9

Day 10
Pompeii excursion
Guided tour of Pompeii led by a local guide – they will stop at various points of the sites to talk about the volcanic eruption, the impact on the town and the ruins.
Day 11
Italian or Latin Language Class

Day 12
Capri excursion
The group will arrive in Capri at Marina Grande where they will take the funicular up to Capri Town that is located just opposite. In winter (until late March), sometimes the funicular is not in service but bus replacements are available. The ride is a very quick ascent, only a couple of minutes but the views are amazing. At the top, groups take advantage of the viewing platform to take photos. The Tour Director will then take the group to the main square and start the tour from here. It’s a steep/hilly area so keep that in mind for any passengers with mobility issues. Usually, the Tour Director walks through Capri Town (with lots of shops and cafes) to various scenic landmarks such as Villa Jovis where there are amazing views.

Tarantella dance lesson
Take a dance lesson, perhaps learning Italy's signature dance, the Tarantella.
Day 14

Local market visit
Visit a local street market and shop for souvenirs.
Final reflection and group discussion
This evening, students make their final entries in their Reflection Journals, sharing key observations and perspectives gained throughout their travel experience and considering how these insights will remain relevant as they return home.
