Earn Academic Credit
You'll be enrolled in our required International Internship Course, which focuses on the NACE Career Readiness Competencies and intercultural development. This course provides you with a framework to critically reflect on and analyze the transferable skills gained throughout your international internship and supports your self-awareness and personal growth in a cross-cultural context. By the end of your internship, you will be prepared to market your experience in any professional setting.
This online course is asynchronous and begins just before your internship start date. Successful completion of the course will result in a Career Readiness Micro-Credential that can be shared across digital platforms.
If you are interested in or required to earn academic credit for your internship abroad (including for visa purposes), you may explore the following options:
Transfer credit from University of South Florida: We’ve partnered with the University of South Florida (USF) to offer a U.S. transcript for all internship programs, for an additional fee of $375. A USF transcript will be sent to your home institution 2–3 months after the program end date. Letter grade and credit will be awarded based on the successful completion of written academic assignments, completed internship hours, and a supervisor evaluation.
- 8 weeks: 4 credits (minimum of 25 hours per week)
- 8 weeks: 6 credits (minimum of 32 hours per week)
- 12 weeks: 6 credits (minimum of 25 hours per week)
Credit from your home institution: You may work with your home university to receive academic credit for your program. Each academic institution has a unique policy for granting internship credit, thus students should inquire about receiving academic credit with their home university advisors, professors, and/or academic department heads.
If you are earning credit through your home institution, you'll still be expected to participate in the International Internship Course.

Ready, set, let's go
Taking the first steps toward your internship abroad is easy! And if you get stuck, we’re here to help you through the process the entire way.
Submit your application
Work with our Program Advisors to determine the best location for you. Our programs are available to anyone who meets the following eligibility requirements.
- At least 18 years of age by program start date
- Current university student in good academic standing or recent graduate
- 2.5 cumulative GPA
After completing the online application, be sure to submit your supplemental materials by the application deadline.
Participate in an advising session and placement process
Once you're accepted, you will be invited to participate in a personal advising session. Please note that a $1000 deposit will be required prior to scheduling your session. We will then review your resume and cover letter, discuss your goals and prior experiences, and and prep you for what to expect. As the placement search begins, you will receive updates along the way and more than likely be asked to participate in an interview.
Accept your internship placement
When a company decides to host you as an intern, you will receive a placement confirmation with the company name and job description. It is unusual to receive more than one internship placement. Much work and consideration is taken into account to present you with an internship that best matches your goals and experience level. Should you decide not to accept an internship, please know that another opportunity may not be available.
We aim to confirm placements about four weeks before your program starts, but don’t stress if it takes that long. For programs that require a visa, placements usually happen earlier to allow time for processing.Prepare for your adventure
Once you’re set up with your internship placement, we’ll help you cross the finish line, from giving pro packing tips to booking your flight.
