Get inspired on this five-day Art Tour to New Mexico! Focusing on the famous American artist Georgia O’Keefe, this tour travels through the picturesque cities and towns of Santa Fe, Abiquiu, and Taos. You will be immersed in the legendary landscapes that inspired O’Keefe at the world-famous Ghost Ranch, which is now a retreat and education center. There are also plenty of learning opportunities about local and ancient Native Americans, such as an excursion to the Bandelier National Monument. This spectacular and engaging art tour finishes in stunning Santa Fe, where your group will participate in an art class at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum.

Day 1 : Embark on your Art Tour to New Mexico
Depart from home airport

Relax and enjoy your scheduled flight.

Upon arrival and logistical overview

Your 24-hour Tour Director will meet you at the airport and remain with your group until your final airport departure. You’ll have a private coach and driver while touring for the next five days. From the airport in Santa Fe, your group will travel to Abiquiu via Taos.

Taos

Taos is a town in northern New Mexico's high desert, bounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It's known for historic adobe buildings such as Taos Pueblo, a multistory adobe complex inhabited by Native Americans for centuries. A longtime artist colony, Taos also offers many galleries and museums showcasing regional artwork.

You’ll stop at Taos Cow for lunch and ice cream.

Ghost Ranch Retreat and Education Center:

Continue to the Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, which will be your base for the next two nights. While here, you’ll enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the ranch. The landscape of Ghost Ranch—made famous by painter Georgia O'Keeffe—encompasses 21,000 acres of towering rock walls and vast skies in vivid colors.

Day 2 : Georgia O’Keefe’s Ghost Ranch
Tour the grounds

Following breakfast, your group will tour the Ghost Ranch by motorbus to see the landscapes and actual locations of Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings while your guide tells stories of her 50 years at Ghost Ranch.

Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology

Visit the Museum of Anthropology at Ghost Ranch, which displays ancient artifacts from Paleo-Indian culture, from 10,000 years ago through ancestral Puebloan times to present, including pottery and weavings from local Pueblos.

Horseback riding

After dinner, take in a spectacular sunset and an uninterrupted view of 21,000 acres during a leisurely horseback ride.

Day 3 : Bandelier National Monument
Continue on your journey

After breakfast at the Ranch, you’ll travel from Abiquiu to Santa Fe, which will be your base for the next two nights. While here, your group will enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Bandelier National Monument

En route to Santa Fe, you’ll stop to visit Bandelier National Monument. The monument, which is operated by the U.S. National Park Service, preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans.

Santa Fe

Santa Fe, the Town of the Holy Faith, is an ancient city located 7,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Established in 1610, it’s both the oldest and the highest capital city in the United States.

Group dinner

Enjoy an evening meal together in a local restaurant.

Day 4 : Exploring Santa Fe’s Art Scene
Georgia O’Keefe Museum

Visit the Georgia O'Keefe Museum to learn more about the artist. This visit offers insight not only into the artist's paintings but also her creative process as well as the light and landscape that inspired her.

Art class

Participate in an art class at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum.

Visit the New Mexico Museum of Art, the state’s oldest art museum. Designed by Isaac Rapp and built in 1917, it’s an example of Pueblo Revival-style architecture and one of Santa Fe's best-known syntheses of Native American and Spanish Colonial designs. Your rewarding and enjoyable Art Tour to New Mexico comes to an end as your Tour Director accompanies your group to the airport on your final day.
