Day 1
Travel to Springfield, IL
Oak Ridge Cemetery visit
Stroll through the sprawling, peaceful, and historic cemetery, where President Lincoln rests. These perfectly landscaped grounds are also the resting grounds for Civil War veterans, politicians, and notable Illinois residents.
Lincoln’s Tomb visit
Pay respects to President Abraham Lincoln at this monumental tomb where he lies with Mary Todd Lincoln, and three of their four children. Tour the interior of Lincoln's Tomb that was built from donations from the U.S. citizenry.
Veterans Memorials in Oak Ridge Cemetery
Inside Oak Ridge lie memorials to Illinois veterans of World War II, in addition to the wars in Korea and Vietnam. Vigils and services occur throughout the year to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Old State Capitol tour
Stand on the steps of this landmark building, where Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama announced they were running for President of the United States. Your tour will reflect on the many historical moments and milestones that have occurred here.

Illinois State Capitol tour
Tour a stunning example of French Renaissance and Italianate-style architecture. Taller than the U.S. Capitol and completed in 1888, this architectural achievement is the seat of the state's legislative and executive branches.
Illinois State Museum visit
Engage your senses through hands-on interactive displays and learn about the people, natural history, and artistic achievements of Illinois. Immerse yourself in the dramatic shifts in the ways people have lived here throughout the last 300 years.

At program sign-up you can opt to pay in full, or break up the cost of your trip with the Advantage Payment Plan. This plan allows you to pay a small initial deposit, then have your remaining payments spread out into affordable monthly amounts.

Fundraising Tools
Our easy-to-use tools put students in the driver's seat of their own fundraising efforts. Students can send e-cards, share links on social media, and even send out printed letters through WorldStrides' Gift of Education program. In one click friends and family members can make a direct donation to the trip - with 100% of the money raised going to offset their trip price. Thousands of students pay for their entire trip each year through the Gift of Education.
