Program Dates
Overview
Perform at the Vancouver Heritage Festival with the opportunity to march in a televised parade! Showcase your ensemble’s talents on an international stage in one of North America’s most beautiful cities. Students will grow as performers through expert instruction and feedback from adjudicators. This unique opportunity includes the Capilano Bridge or Grouse Mountain Tour and an Awards Ceremony at P.N.E. Playland. Add optional attractions like the Vancouver Aquarium.
Itinerary
Day 1
Travel to Vancouver, BC
Hotel check-in after 4PM
AIM Experience Master Class (optional)
Start the weekend off on the right note with your own customized master class—the AIM Experience. Spend 60-90 minutes with a professional clinician perfecting your festival performance, fine-tuning your skills, and reaffirming your classroom teachings.
Super Skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain (optional)
Everything that makes Vancouver great comes together at Grouse Mountain. The Skyride takes visitors on a one-mile journey to the Peak Chalet, 3,700 feet above sea level for breathtaking panoramic views of the city, ocean, and surrounding mountains.
Capilano Bridge Tour (optional)
The Capilano Bridge Tour – naturally thrilling since 1889, the suspension bridge is Vancouver’s oldest and most famous visitor attraction. The bridge spans 450 feet across and 230 feet above the Capilano River.
Vancouver Harbour Dinner Cruise (optional)
Sit back and experience a different view of Vancouver on one of the Harbour Cruises.
Day 2
First day of festival performances
After arriving at the concert venue, your group will warm up in a private rehearsal room. Each ensemble will have 30-35 minutes on stage. A panel of three adjudicators will provide written and recorded feedback for each performance. Following your performance, a select adjudicator will conduct a mini-clinic on stage with your group, providing valuable feedback and reinforcement for your classroom teachings. Groups will also have the opportunity to participate as an audience for other groups competing—giving your ensemble exposure to their peers.
Vancouver Lookout Tower (optional)
Glass elevators whisk you over 550 feet for 360-degree breathtaking views of Vancouver, the mountains and the ocean.
Day 3
Continue festival performances
Festival performances will continue throughout the day. Your performance time will be given to you weeks before your event, so you can plan your day accordingly.
Hyack International Parade (optional)
Marching bands are welcome to perform in the Hyack International Parade – a favorite local event for more than 50 years!
Awards Ceremony at P.N.E. Playground
P.N.E. Playground is the host to your exclusive Awards Ceremony, complete with rides and a picnic dinner.

Fundraising Tools
Our easy-to-use tools put students in the driver's seat of their own fundraising efforts. Students can send e-cards, share links on social media, and even send out printed letters through WorldStrides' Gift of Education program. In one click friends and family members can make a direct donation to the trip - with 100% of the money raised going to offset their trip price. Thousands of students pay for their entire trip each year through the Gift of Education.
