Secure the documents you need for takeoff
Every study abroad journey starts with a valid passport—and for many destinations, a visa too. While requirements vary by country and program length, one rule applies across the board: your passport should be valid for at least six months after your program ends. Processing times can be longer than expected, so don’t wait—secure your documents early to avoid unnecessary stress.
Stay informed while abroad
While our team will always keep you informed of incidents that occur in your study abroad destination, we encourage all U.S. citizens to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) offered by the U.S. Department of State. This free service helps you receive important updates about your destination, including travel advisories, safety alerts, and local embassy support.
