Ideal for Spanish speakers of all levels, the Universidad de Málaga offers language courses for beginngers to advanced speakers, as well as select courses in English. You'll spend a semester in Málaga, a sun-soaked city on Spain’s southern coast known for its palm-lined beaches, ancient fortresses, and dynamic cultural scene.

From seaside strolls to open-air tapas bars, life in Málaga moves at a sunny, Mediterranean pace—making it the perfect place to improve your Spanish and immerse yourself in Andalusian culture. The Universidad de Málaga offers courses for students from beginning to advanced Spanish levels, as well as a variety of electives in English. Beginning and intermediate Spanish courses are held with international students, while advanced-level courses and electives in English are offered to WorldStrides students only. Class sizes are small, and all courses are taught by host university faculty. We offer an intensive month of Spanish language that is a great supplement before or after your semester program.
From the moment you land to the day you leave, our team is here for you. You’ll be greeted at the airport and supported by our experienced on-site staff throughout your stay. Whether you need help navigating life abroad or just want local recommendations, we’re here to ensure your experience is safe, supported, and unforgettable.
We’ll help you make the most of your time abroad with immersive excursions and interactive activities throughout your program. We’ll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, academic culture, and your new home – all included in your program. From exploring the Alcazaba to boat rides across Málaga Bay or joining a traditional cooking class, this program offers a true blend of academic and cultural discovery.

Located just five minutes from the beach in the scenic El Palo neighborhood, the Universidad de Málaga (UMA) welcomes international students to its Centro Internacional de Español, where Spanish language and culture courses are offered in a relaxed, engaging environment. With over 75 years of experience teaching Spanish to foreign students, UMA provides an ideal setting to improve your language skills while soaking in the coastal lifestyle.

Housing
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
