Program Details

Live and learn in Paris this summer while exploring French language and the arts in one of the world’s most culturally rich cities. Take two arts courses or combine an arts course with French language to create the right academic experience for you. Arts courses are taught in English by visiting instructors and are exclusive to WorldStrides Paris students, with classes held either in the Paris office or on-site at monuments and museums. French language courses are offered at all levels and taught in French at the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP) alongside international students from around the world. Extend your studies with our back-to-back options, allowing you to explore more of what Paris has to offer.

We’ll help you make the most of your time abroad with immersive excursions and interactive activities throughout your program. We’ll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, academic culture, and your new home – all included in your program. Whether you're visiting the Louvre during class or attending an evening cooking class in the heart of Paris, this program offers a blend of classroom learning with unforgettable cultural discovery.

Study + Veritas

Experience study abroad with a purpose by combining your academics with ministry service, faith-centered learning, and mentorship through Veritas Christian Study Abroad. Enroll in a Veritas-specific course alongside your full-time classes, connect with a Veritas Mentor, and serve local communities through meaningful ministry work. Whether it's youth outreach, church involvement, or community support, you'll live your faith while exploring the world.

Institut Catholique de Paris

Study at the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP), a historic university campus tucked into the heart of Paris’s 6th arrondissement. Located near the Latin Quarter and the Jardin du Luxembourg, “la Catho” offers a serene academic setting, with ivy-covered buildings and tranquil courtyards just steps from bustling boulevards and iconic cafés.

Learn alongside students from around the world while strengthening your French through immersive language, culture, and civilization courses through the university’s renowned Institut de Langue et de Culture Française (ILCF).
Take courses taught in English across art, literature, communications, fashion, politics, and more.
Connect with a local French student through ICP's Tandem buddy program, designed to help international students adjust to campus life and practice conversational French.

Academics

We know choosing the right courses is important. We've got all the info you need to set yourself up for academic success abroad.

The transcript from the Institut Catholique de Paris will reflect contact hours. Please note that the contact hour at the Catho is 60 minutes, and the cover letter that will accompany your transcript will reflect the corresponding adjusted U.S. 50-minute contact hours listed below. The courses listed on our website all reflect the adjusted U.S. contact hours.

42 Catho contact hours = 50 U.S. contact hours
60 Catho contact hours (15/week) = 72 U.S. contact hours
84 Catho contact hours (21/week) = 100 U.S. contact hours

Students on a Summer + Veritas program will enroll in 1 additional credit from our Veritas School of Record, California Baptist University (CBU). The CBU transcript will reflect U.S. semester credits and letter grades. Please be in touch with your home university regarding credit transfer for this program.

For each 4-week session, you'll enroll in either 1 or 2 courses, depending on the session you select:

Standard Session: You'll select two courses - two Arts courses taught in English or one Arts course + one language course
Intensive French Language: You'll select one intensive language course

Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change. Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or prerequisites. Course availability is based on enrollment numbers. We suggest seeking pre-approval for alternate courses in the event of class cancellations. Some courses may require additional fees. + Veritas:
All Veritas students will take a 1-credit online course in addition to full-time courses at their host university. The Global Ministry Practicum (HUM 490) creates a guided space for students to reflect on faith, identity, and service in a global context. Your Veritas course is taught by a Christian professor who understands the mission of Veritas Christian Study Abroad. A full course description can be found here.

Enrollment in French courses is determined by the results of a language placement exam administered by Institut Catholique de Paris. Please note that your performance on the placement exam may not reflect the number of semesters of language instruction you've already completed at your home university.

We strongly suggest that students who are trying to place into any level of language beyond true beginning prepare for the language placement exam by reviewing previous coursework.

Excursions and Activities

From guided city tours to hands-on activities and weekend getaways, each experience is intended to help you connect with your host community. You’ll have access to a detailed itinerary in the WorldStrides Connections app prior to your program.

Offerings vary by term; below is a sample of past activities to give you a taste of what’s in store. Optional excursions require an additional fee.

Housing

After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.

The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
