Semester at Sejong University

You may take up to 15 credits at Sejong. Most students take 12 - 15 credits pending on their home university requirement. 3 Sejong credits are equivalent to 3 U.S. semester credits or 4.5 quarter units. Your home university will determine final credit equivalencies.

Your transcript cover letter will include recommendations for transfer credits, but determination of credit transfer and course equivalencies is ultimately determined by your home institution. Be sure to speak with your home university regarding credit transfer for this program.

You'll enroll in 4 courses for the semester, earning 12 - 15 Sejong University credits based on a semester system. You must enroll in a minimum of 12 credits per semester. Most courses are 3 credits and meet for three hours per week. Korean language courses at the beginner and intermediate levels.

The South Korean academic year begins each February. As you review course options, keep this in mind to ensure that you select courses from the correct semester.

• 1st Semester: February – June (US Spring Semester)

• 2nd Semester: August – December (US Fall Semester)

We have an integrated direct enrollment model with Sejong University. By enrolling directly, you'll have access to a majority of the courses offered throughout the university’s academic departments and have the opportunity to attend many of the same classes as local and international students who are looking to improve their English-language skills.

You'll enroll in your courses during course registration approximately 3 - 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester, when course lists are released by Sejong University. You'll have the option to make changes up until the first two days of classes during the add/drop period. We've provided courses from the previous year as a guide until the new course list is available. Although courses do not change tremendously from year-to-year, please be aware that you may need to make additional selections once the course list is officially published.

There may be an additional fee for Global Computer Engineering major and Global Applied Music major.

Please pay close attention to the prerequisites of the courses as the levels are not necessarily indicative of the sequential order of the courses and the class level of the student.

To be eligible for this program, you must be currently enrolled at a four-year institution. You must have at least two semesters completed on your transcript prior to the start of the program. Freshmen are not eligible; transfer students may have additional requirements.
