Immerse yourself in the charm and coastal energy of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, Chile—a vibrant city of hills, murals, and cultural flair. Strengthen your Spanish language skills during your winter break in this intensive language program, designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced Spanish speakers. You’ll take two Spanish language courses over three weeks at the renowned Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV). Courses are tailored to your proficiency level and taught by experienced local professors. You’ll learn alongside international classmates, building your skills in a collaborative, immersive setting.

Set near the colorful port of Valparaíso, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) is a prestigious Catholic institution offering a truly immersive Spanish-language experience. Most classes are held in the historic Casa Central, just blocks from the ocean, while some courses take place at satellite campuses in nearby coastal towns, giving you a broader view of the region.

Students with advanced Spanish proficiency can enroll in classes alongside local Chilean students in a variety of academic fields.

Home Away from Home
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
