The New York Film Academy Florence summer program offers two hands-on paths: Filmmaking or Acting for Film, designed to sharpen your craft in one of the most visually stunning cities in the world.

Program Details
Whether you’re crafting a story behind the lens or stepping into the frame, this program sets the stage for creative growth in Florence. At the New York Film Academy (NYFA) Florence campus, you’ll choose between two focused tracks: Filmmaking or Acting for Film.
Filmmaking: gain foundational training through the production of multiple short films, each building in complexity. You'll be introduced to the traditional methods of shooting on film and apply those principles using modern digital tools. Classes and workshops are held throughout the week, with additional time required for writing, casting, location scouting, and editing.
Acting for Film: dive into an immersive training experience that includes scene study, monologue work, and courses on the technical demands of acting for the screen. This hands-on curriculum gives you practical tools to build your confidence and presence on camera.

The New York Film Academy (NYFA) Florence offers an immersive, creative experience in the heart of Italy’s Renaissance capital. Located just steps from Piazza Santa Croce and built on the ruins of a 2,000-year-old amphitheater, the campus draws students from around the world to study filmmaking and acting in a setting as inspiring as it is historic. All programs are taught in English, and no prior Italian language experience is required. Whether you’re building your portfolio or exploring a new passion, NYFA Florence offers an unforgettable foundation in the visual and performing arts.

Home Away from Home
After you've applied, you'll complete a housing questionnaire that will help us match your preferences with the available options. Housing assignments are on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete this form as soon as you're able! We strive to match your housing preferences as best we can, but requests cannot be guaranteed.
The options listed below are based on double-occupancy with another international student, unless otherwise noted. Single rooms may be available upon request for an additional fee. Meals and laundry service are not included unless otherwise specified. All utilities and internet are included, though you may be charged an additional fee should your consumption exceed the allotted monthly amount. A refundable security deposit may be required for some options.
