Whether you’re stepping behind the camera or into the spotlight, Florence is the perfect setting to elevate your craft. The New York Film Academy (NYFA) Florence campus offers two specialized tracks in this semester-long program: Filmmaking and Acting for Film.
The Filmmaking path introduces you to the foundational principles of film production. You’ll create several projects of increasing complexity, beginning with the traditional concepts of shooting motion picture film and transitioning to digital filmmaking techniques. Outside of classes and hands-on workshops, you’ll spend time writing, location scouting, casting, and editing as you bring your stories to life.
The Acting for Film path immerses you in the craft of acting through intensive scene study, monologue work, and on-camera performance training. In addition to core acting coursework, you’ll participate in classes designed to teach the technical aspects of acting for film, helping you build confidence and fluency in front of the camera.
From the moment you land to the day you leave, our team is here for you. You’ll be greeted at the airport and supported by our experienced on-site staff throughout your stay. Whether you need help navigating life abroad or just want local recommendations, we’re here to ensure your experience is safe, supported, and unforgettable.
We’ll help you make the most of your time abroad with interactive activities throughout your program. We’ll also host an in-depth orientation when you arrive to help you navigate the city, academic culture, and your new home – all included in your program. From cooking classes to film-worthy walks along the Arno, your creative and cultural journeys will unfold together in Florence.
