Semester at Konkuk University

Your transcript cover letter will include recommendations for transfer credits, but determination of credit transfer and course equivalencies is ultimately determined by your home institution. Be sure to speak with your home university regarding credit transfer for this program.

You'll choose from one of the following options for your semester coursework:

• Study + Intern: You'll be placed in an internship and enroll in 2 additional academic courses. You'll earn 6 U.S. semester credits for your internship and another 6 - 9 credits for your academic coursework. See Host University Internship section for more details.

• Study Only: You'll enroll in 4 academic courses for the semester, earning 12 U.S. semester credits.

You must enroll in a minimum of 12 credits per semester, maximum of 15 credits. The tuition price is the same regardless of how many courses you take. Most courses at Konkuk are 3 credits.

We have an integrated direct enrollment model with Konkuk University. By enrolling directly, you'll have access to a majority of the courses offered throughout the university’s academic departments and have the opportunity to attend many of the same classes as local and international students who are looking to improve their English-language skills.

There are two types of English course offerings available to students;

• Confirmed English Courses: guaranteed to be available for the next two years. These courses provide students with the assurance that they will not be canceled or removed, making them a reliable option for academic planning.

• Tentative English Courses: announced approximately four weeks before the arrival date. Students can review course lists from previous years to get an idea of what might be offered.

The following disciplines are not open to study abroad students: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Teacher Education, Division of Information Security, Exercise Science, and Art & Design

Internship Opportunity

You'll work 15-20 hours a week, for a total of 240 hours, alongside your coursework. Throughout the semester, you'll check-in with Konkuk University staff about internship expectations, learn more about Korean business culture, and receive support as needed.
