Summer at Fudan University

Each course is typically 2 Fudan credits, which we recommend transfer as 3 U.S. semester credits.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of your home institution. Our enrollment policy and possible visa implications require you to maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by your home institution, during your program.

Your transcript will reflect Fudan credits for each of your courses. Please be in touch with your U.S. university regarding credit transfer.

Most courses are offered at 39 contact hours, while language courses are offered at 40 contact hours over the four-week study period. Some courses may be offered for less than 39 contact hours, so please check the syllabus of your preferred course. Students will enroll in 1 - 3 courses. You'll select your courses 2 - 4 weeks prior to the program start date.

Students should pay close attention to the prerequisites of the courses as the levels are not necessarily indicative of the sequential order of the courses and the class level of the student. 

Students will have the option of taking one language class (beginner, intermediate or advanced) and can choose either one or two content courses. Students are not required to take a language course but must take either one or two content courses. 

Chinese language course is for foreign passport holders only. 

Program Eligibility:

• Students below a 2.75 GPA are encouraged to apply and may be admitted on a case-by-case basis.

• Minimum sophomore standing at a two-year or four-year institution at the time of participation.

• Gap year students can apply if they have completed high school and can show proof of acceptance into a U.S. institution.
