What better way to see the city lights than at night?
Osaka
Dotonbori, Osaka, will always be busy, no matter the time of day.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
Every night, there's an amazing light show across the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building with added music. Stunning to watch.
Tokyo Tower
The Tokyo Tower was a glowing pillar against the night sky. When I went up, I even got to see it reflected in some of the surrounding skyscrapers, which was really cool.
Festival Lights
A beautiful wall of lights surrounding a pop-up festival in Tokyo.
Kusatsu
Getting to see the naturally heated mineral water in Kusatsu was so cool! The water is heated underground and pulled to the surface to cool off. It makes the natural hot spring Japan is known for.
Mountain Gorge
Walking back from the Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel, I was able to capture this moment of the surrounding mountainside. It was so tranquil and beautiful that it became one of my favorite memories of Japan.
Ghibli Park
There was no way I was leaving Japan before seeing Ghibli Park. As a huge fan of the movies, I was ecstatic to see what the park had to offer—and it didn't disappoint.
Fall Light
During fall in Japan, all the Ginkgo trees turned yellow. Take in Showa Kinen Park for the fall nightly light show.
Lake Kawaguchi
The lights across Lake Kawaguchi are stunning at night. As I looked at them, I contemplated my last week in Japan and recalled all the amazing memories I made.
Christmas Lights
Christmas is NOT a holiday to be messed with in Japan. This walking district near Ginza, Tokyo, was covered in Christmas lights and had little Christmas antique pop-up carts all along the street. It was so sweet to see!
