The AIM Experience

Music Director with Choir Students Performance

The AIM Experience Launching in 2017!

Affirm. Inspire. Mentor. Directors have been asking for it, and here it is! The AIM Experience is an exclusive private master-class session offered as an elective to participating groups at all Heritage Festivals. This 60-90 minute concentrated educational experience provides extra performance time and customized one-on-one instruction from one of our professional clinicians. Music directors can set the focus of the session’s content through their planning call with the instructor. Reaffirm your classroom teachings, fine tune your festival performance, or focus on a few specific skills – the choice is yours! Ask your Festival Selection Advisor about setting up your own AIM Experience!

Your Adventure, Day by Day

Day 1 Arrive in San Antonio!
  • The Riverwalk (optional) Paso Del Rio in the heart of downtown is the pride of the city! Lush green foliage lines the banks of this peaceful, historic river. Cobblestone walkways lead visitors to the river-level restaurants and shops.
  • The Alamo (optional) On the east side of Alamo Plaza is the most famous spot in Texas where 189 defenders fell on March 6, 1836, after repeated attacks by Mexican General Santa Anna’s army. Mission San Antonio de Valero (The Alamo) was established in 1718 as the city’s first mission. The chapel, one of the most photographed facades in the nation, and the Long Barracks are all that remain of the original fort.
  • Hotel check-in
Day 2 First performances and explore the city
  • Texas Ranger Museum and the Buckhorn Saloon (optional) The Texas Ranger Museum is divided into three distinct areas: The Ranger Gallery, Tales of the Texas Rangers and Ranger Town. The Buckhorn Museum and Saloon gives you a taste of the Old West including wildlife exhibits from all over the world!
  • Festival performances Festival performances run throughout the day at your event venue. After arriving at your concert venue, your group will warm up in a private rehearsal room. Each ensemble will perform for 15-minutes on stage. A panel of three adjudicators will provide written and recorded feedback for each performance. Following your performance, a select adjudicator will conduct a mini-clinic on stage with your group, providing valuable feedback and reinforcement for your classroom teachings. Groups will also have the opportunity to participate as an audience for other groups competing – giving your ensemble exposure to their peers.
  • Rio San Antonio Boat Cruise (optional) Take a narrated cruise down the Rio River and hear some exciting history of San Antonio. Cruises cover miles of the picturesque San Antonio Riverwalk.
Day 3 Continue performances and Awards Ceremony at Six Flags
  • Final performances Festival performances will continue throughout the day. Your performance time will be given to you weeks before your event, so you can plan your day accordingly. Bringing more than one ensemble? No problem – our team will arrange your schedule so you can maximize your free time.
  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas Musical Theme Park Your package includes a pass to this exciting park, so head over to the park and have some fun!
  • Awards Ceremony and Cookout Enjoy a cookout-style Awards Ceremony in the park with all your new friends.
