Arrive in Reykjavik

Your 24-hour Tour Director will meet you at the airport and remain with your group until your final airport departure.
Viking World visit
Discover Iceland's Viking heritage at Viking World, a museum dedicated to the Viking Age. See the impressive Íslendingur, a full-scale replica of a Viking ship, and explore exhibits that bring the history and legacy of the Vikings to life.
Reykjavik Tour Director-led sightseeing tour
Explore Reykjavik, Iceland’s vibrant capital and the nation’s first permanent settlement. Stroll along Laugavegur Street, lined with colorful boutiques and cozy cafés. Visit Bessastaðir, the official residence of Iceland’s president, and see Höfði House, where Reagan and Gorbachev met for their historic 1986 summit. Climb the 73-meter tower of Hallgrímskirkja Church, dedicated to poet Hallgrímur Pétursson, for panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains, and hear the grand 25-ton pipe organ fill the hall with sound.

Take the stage and perform for local audiences in a venue that captures the spirit of the city.

Day 4
Golden Circle excursion
Experience all the geological diversity that Iceland has to offer with a visit to the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that falls on a rift between two tectonic plates. Then make your way to the Great Geysir, watch the Hvítá river disappear into the earth at the Gullfoss Falls, and watch the Strokkur Geyser erupt. End the tour with a tasty stop for gelato tasting at the Efstidalur farm, a recently renovated farm in offering a unique tasting experience.

South Shore excursion
Discover Iceland's dramatic South Shore, where waterfalls, black sand beaches, and rugged coastal landscapes await. Walk behind the cascading Seljalandsfoss waterfall, visit the powerful Skógafoss, and explore the seaside village of Vík and the striking black sands of Reynisfjara Beach.

Travel to Reykjavik
The Icelandic Museum of Rock 'n' Roll visit
Explore the Icelandic Museum of Rock 'n' Roll and discover the story of Iceland's vibrant music scene. Learn about influential artists including The Sugarcubes, Björk, Sigur Rós, and Of Monsters and Men, then listen to recordings and try your hand at interactive instruments.
Gunnuhver excursion
Explore the dramatic landscapes of the Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Visit the steaming geothermal area at Gunnuhver, cross the iconic Bridge Between Continents, and discover a landscape shaped by volcanic craters, lava fields, and Iceland's powerful geothermal activity.
Blue Lagoon visit
Relax and unwind at the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a bright blue, mineral-rich geothermal spa set in the middle of a vast lava field. Soak in the warm, healing waters as clouds of steam rise around you, revealing moss-covered lava formations and the distant silhouettes of the geothermal power plant. The lagoon’s floor, covered with smooth rocks and slimy, white silica mud, adds to this uniquely Icelandic experience.
Krýsuvík Geothermal Field visit
Discover the otherworldly landscapes of the Krýsuvík Geothermal Field, where steaming vents, bubbling mud pots, fumaroles, and colorful mineral deposits showcase Iceland's volcanic activity. Walk along boardwalks through this active geothermal area and experience one of the country's most fascinating natural wonders.

One simple call to Customer Service and you’ll know how much may be available for your trip even before signing up. Please note: financial assistance is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our easy-to-use tools put students in the driver's seat of their own fundraising efforts. Students can send e-cards, share links on social media, and even send out printed letters through WorldStrides' Gift of Education program. In one click friends and family members can make a direct donation to the trip - with 100% of the money raised going to offset their trip price. Thousands of students pay for their entire trip each year through the Gift of Education.
