Amanda Freitag Thomas
Executive Vice President, K-12 Individual
"I started with the company as a student. It made such a tremendous impact on my life that I wanted to be part of providing that experience to other people. It’s why I come to work every day."
Amanda leads our K-12 Individual division, which provides opportunities for students to test-drive careers and explore new interests. She is passionate about giving students life-changing experiences like the one she had as an Envision program alumna. The daughter and granddaughter of teachers, Amanda began working in education over 20 years ago as a substitute teacher and a facilitator for WorldStrides programs. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles inside and outside the classroom in both education and edtech. In her current role, Amanda oversees all WorldStrides' Individual program experiences for elementary, middle, and high school students, including career exploration, performing arts, pre-college, and individual sign-up educational travel programs.
Originally from Virginia, she graduated from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina and spent time conducting research at Columbia University’s Biosphere 2 Center in Oracle, Arizona. She later earned her MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
