Before or following your Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) Jamboree experience in Summer 2026, take your troupe to explore our nation's capital with WorldStrides. Our expert Course Leaders create an experience that is as educational as it is fun. Explore nearby Washington, D.C., and stand in the footsteps of national heroes and founders. Lay a wreath to understand the true meaning of sacrifice at Arlington National Cemetery and lose yourself among the amazing exhibits of the Smithsonian Museums. You'll even stop by the Boy Scout Memorial! Experience the adventure of a lifetime at the Jamboree, with lots of fun, friends and fellowship with hands-on adventure that takes you places you never thought you’d go and challenge you to try things you never thought you could.

Day 1 : Welcome to Washington, D.C.!
Arrive in Washington, D.C.

Meet your WorldStrides Course Leader and prepare for an action-packed adventure.

Arlington National Cemetery

Pay your respects to the hundreds of thousands of brave men and women who sacrificed their lives.

Iwo Jima Memorial

Think about the inscription, “Uncommon valor was a common virtue,” while you explore this tribute to the U.S. Marines who died while serving our country.

Boy Scout Memorial

The memorial to the Boy Scouts of America stands on the site of the first Boy Scout Jamboree in 1937.

Dinner

Evening Memorials - Tidal Basin

MLK, Jefferson and FDR Memorials.

Hotel check-in

Day 2 : Follow in the footsteps of our Founding Fathers.

Capitol Hill

Walk the underground tunnels where lawmakers meet, explore the Visitor Center (by appointment), take in the miles of books at the Library of Congress, and sit on the steps of the highest court in the land, the U.S. Supreme Court.

National Archives

Home of the original Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.

Smithsonian Institution

Discover some of the museums making up the Smithsonian Institution, such as the Natural History Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, and the American History Museum.

Washington Monument

The world’s tallest stone monument, which honors our nation’s first president.

Evening Memorials

Lincoln, Korean War Veterans and Vietnam Veterans Memorials.

Day 3 : Continue to explore our nation's capital!
Breakfast

Mount Vernon

George Washington’s home, plantation, and Education Center, which showcases life during colonial times, 18th-century treasures, and our first president as a farmer and businessman.

Holocaust Museum

Experience the Holocaust through the eyes of a child in “Daniel’s Story” at this living memorial to the victims of Nazi Germany.

Ford’s Theatre and Petersen House

(by appointment) Follow the mystery of Lincoln’s assassination from Ford’s Theatre to the nearby house where he died.

Dinner

Pentagon Memorial

Honors the 184 victims of the 9/11 attack at the Pentagon.

Trip Question and Answers

    How do I register for my program/trip?

    For most programs, there are a few easy ways to register:

    • Online: Visit our online portal
    • By Phone: Some programs may be eligible for phone registration. Visit our Contact Us page to find the phone number!
    • By Mail: If you received a trip letter distributed by your program leader, complete the registration form and fax the front and back with your credit card information to the number or address provided in your letter.
    Some WorldStrides programs offer incentives for early registration, so please refer to the information provided to you by your program leader for complete details. When registering, you'll need to use the Trip ID assigned to your program.  Each ID is unique and can also be found on the registration information provided to you by the educator leading this program. *Note: Some groups may have special registration procedures. Please check with your program leader if you cannot find a Trip ID associated with your trip.

    What's included in the cost of a domestic or high school international program?

    Every program is customized and what's included may vary from trip to trip. A typical program includes transportation (air or motor coach), hotel accommodations, meals, a daily guide (Course Leader or Tour Director), sightseeing activities, and immersive educational content. All programs also include all of our safety provisions and support. The registration letter provided by the teacher leading your program has all the inclusion details for your specific program.

    Can students earn academic credit from their travel programs?

    Yes! We love when students get credit for learning. This helps them get a step ahead, whether its for a college application or for a future career. All middle programs include the opportunity to earn free high school credit. Our Perspectives programs offer high school students the opportunity to earn three free college preparatory credits. Most of our higher education programs include credit from the academic institution of record. Our online courses make it easy to earn credit at a student's own pace. WorldStrides offers coursework that has been carefully designed to combine the field experience with online assignments that demonstrate achievement of learning objectives.
