The European Soccer Experience: Germany and Holland

Football is the most popular sport in both Germany and Holland. The German national football team has won four FIFA World Cups (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014) and holds a record three UEFA European Championships (1972, 1980, 1996). Holland is well known for its national football team, usually dressed in orange, who won the European Championship in 1988, and have since competed in many European and World Cups. Dusseldorf guided sightseeing tour

Enjoy a guided Dusseldorf city tour which will take us through the heart of the beautiful old town. See the Kaiserwerth, a historical district with a ruined castle of Holy Roman Emperor Barbarossa Frederick I; Schloss Benrath; Hofgarten, the old city park; Gerresheim Basilica; and St. Suitbertus Basilica.

Friendly match

Play an international friendly match against a local club or academy team. Your team will meet and compete against athletes of similar ages and skill levels and have the opportunity to make friends for life.

Day 4 : Dusseldorf
Training session led by your coaching staff

Participate in a training session at a local field in the area.

Cologne excursion

Köln (Cologne) is one of Germany’s oldest cities, having been founded by the Romans around 2,000 years ago. It features an impressive cathedral with towering twin spires, as well as numerous cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums, and an active art scene. Visit Kölner Dom, the most famous Gothic structure in Germany. In addition to its grandiose size, the cathedral also features the Shrine of the Three Kings, a huge Romanesque reliquary said to hold relics of the Three Kings, and the Altar of the Magi, the work of Stephan Lochner. Take the opportunity to ascend to the viewing platform for wonderful views of the city. Enjoy time to shop this afternoon in Old Town.

Day 5 : Dusseldorf
ESPRIT Arena Tour

Take a guided tour of ESPRIT Arena, home to the club Fortuna Düsseldorf, established in 1895. The arena has a seating capacity of 54,600 and was built between 2002 and 2004 to replace the old Rheinstadion. The first match at the stadium, a league match between Fortuna Düsseldorf and Union Berlin (2-0), was played on September 10, 2004. The stadium officially opened a few months later, on January 18, 2005, with a friendly match between Fortuna and Bayern Munich.

Travel to Amsterdam

Kamp Vught guided visit

Now a museum and memorial center, the former Nazi concentration camp known to the Germans as Konzentrationslager Herzogenbusch was one of only two concentration camps run by the SS outside of Germany.

Day 7 : Amsterdam
Canal guided cruise

Take a glass-topped boat ride down the flower-lined canals of Amsterdam for an amazing view of gabled houses and nearly 1,200 bridges.

Van Gogh Museum visit

Visit the Van Gogh Museum that houses the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world. Witness the artist's developments and compare his paintings to works by other artists from the 19th century in the collection.

Professional coaching clinic

Participate in a special coaching clinic with a guest coach, player, or instructor. The clinic will be designed exclusively for the team and to enhance skills in areas identified by the coaching staff.

Day 8 : Amsterdam
Ajax soccer stadium visit

We will take a guide tour of Arena Stadium, the home of AFC Ajax (Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax), the most famous Dutch soccer club. Amsterdam's most modern stadium features impressive architecture. After its construction in 1996, the stadium was able to seat 51,000 spectators. During the tour, we will be able to see the room where press conferences take place before each match; visit the control room of the stadium; and look at the pitch from the ArenA's highest seat. We will conclude in the official Ajax Fan Shop and take some free time for shopping and exploration.

Amsterdam guided bike tour

Discover the city from a different angle and hop on to a bike to take a guided tour of Amsterdam with a local expert.
