White Horse Temple

Discover the White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China, dating back to 68 AD.

Day 8 : Day at Shoalin Temple
Learn Kung Fu

This morning you will visit the Chan Buddhist temple, Shaolin, famous for its martial arts instruction and practice. While there, learn about the history behind Kung Fu and practice a few moves.

Zhengzhou to Shanghai

Head to Zhengzhou this afternoon to catch your flight to Shanghai.

Day 9 : Enjoy Shanghai
Tour Shanghai

Today, enjoy a local guide-led sightseeing tour of Shanghai, including the colonial Bund, the French Concession, and People's Square, a spectacular space in the heart of the city.

Jade Buddha Temple

Explore the Jade Buddha Temple this afternoon.

Shanghai Museum

A rich collection of ancient Chinese art including ceramics, bronze, paintings and calligraphy, will be admired during a visit to the Shanghai Museum.

Shop the Market

Discover Town God Temple Market, a market where you can purchase crafts and sample authentic foods.

Enjoy the Show!

This evening, marvel at a Chinese acrobatics show.

Day 10 : Explore Shanghai

Up to Three College Credits Included with this Program

Through our Discovery for Credit Program, students traveling on an international WorldStrides program have the opportunity to earn academic credit by completing an online course that allows them to reflect upon many of the themes and topics explored during their travel program. Those in grades 6–12 at the time of travel can earn free elective high school credit upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Through our university partner, George Mason University, eligible students in grades 9-12 at the time of travel can earn up to three college credits upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Students who earn credit with WorldStrides will find this distinguishes them as online learners and gives them a jump-start on their path to a successful higher education experience.
