Welcome to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, a cosmopolitan city that's often referred to as "the Paris of South America." Meet your Tour Director and start exploring this bustling city.

Day 3 : Buenos Aires
See Buenos Aires

Join a local guide for sightseeing. Stroll the city's many plazas and boulevards, including Plaza de Mayo where the city was born more than four centuries ago. Visit Congress Hall, the San Telmo District, and the fashionable Recoleta area. Entrance to the Metropolitan Cathedral is included.

Feel the passion as professional instructors teach you the tango, Argentina’s favorite dance. Discover the tango’s origins in 19th century Buenos Aires, and learn about its place in today’s culture. Later, relax and watch the pros perform in a dramatic show.

Set off early today to tour an estancia, a large expanse of land dedicated to agriculture.

Day 5 : Travel to Iguazú

Board a flight bound for the Argentinean Iguazú National Park.

Day 6 : Iguazú
Explore Iguazú National Park

Explore the natural wonders of Iguazú National Park. Be amazed by Iguazú's spectacular waterfalls, set amidst a subtropical rainforest.

Discover Iguazú's Waterfalls

The Cataratas del Iguazú, also known as Garganta del Diablo, or Devil's Throat, are the largest series of waterfalls in the world.

Day 7 : Back to Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires

Fly back to Buenos Aires, where you will have a chance to mingle with the Argentines and browse local markets. This is a great chance to pick up local crafts—you may find a treasure!

Day 8 : Explore More of Buenos Aires
Add on: La Plata

This morning, opt to visit La Plata. Visit the planned city of La Plata. Designed in the 19th century, La Plata is the capital of the province of Buenos Aires. Explore the neo-Gothic Cathedral, the diagonals, the Astronomical Observatory, the Argentian Theater, and the Museum of Natural Science.

Day 9 : Tigre Exploration and Departure
Excursion to Tigre Area

Take an excursion to the Tigre area through the Paraná Delta. On a boat ride, you'll enjoy the stunning scenery of beautiful islands and water channels.

Adios!

This evening, board your flight home from South America.

Day 10 : Arrive Home in the United States

Up to Three College Credits Included with this Program

Through our Discovery for Credit Program, students traveling on an international WorldStrides program have the opportunity to earn academic credit by completing an online course that allows them to reflect upon many of the themes and topics explored during their travel program. Those in grades 6–12 at the time of travel can earn free elective high school credit upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Through our university partner, George Mason University, eligible students in grades 9-12 at the time of travel can earn up to three college credits upon successful completion of both the travel program and online course. Students who earn credit with WorldStrides will find this distinguishes them as online learners and gives them a jump-start on their path to a successful higher education experience.
