WorldStrides Teacher of the Year: Chelsea Roidt

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, WorldStrides will be showcasing our five 2019 Teacher of the Year recipients. These teachers have gone above and beyond, inside of the classroom and out. We are thrilled to honor them for their commitment to students and share their stories!

Chelsea Roidt is a Latin teacher at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Ohio. Known for her caring nature, students often have her for multiple years and see her classroom as a safe harbor during their high school journey. As one student told us, “She truly cares about her students and is known to teach both Latin and life lessons. I love Latin as much as I do today because she teaches with a passion that would make anyone fall in love with it. Through the hard times in high school her class would be the one bright part of my day and I think she deserves to be recognized for that. She has impacted SO many students lives, always putting on a show, respecting her students and above all giving them a safe place for 45 min a day to learn and be themselves.”

See her reaction when we showed up in her classroom to give her the good news, and hear from more of her students and colleagues! Congratulations Chelsea!
